Checkout some of the latest and greatest technology demonstrations using #AMD's #RyzenAI powering 3D Urban Navigation, Outdoor Unstructured GPS Navigation, and Long-Duration Indoor Navigation with plenty of room for user applications! https://lnkd.in/g-xN9eVa It was exciting to spent a few days in Alameda, CA creating this urban navigation proof of concept demonstration. A huge thanks to that community for putting up with our nonsense and being really great sports about having robots driving around at 2m/s on the roads. PS This project may have been our excuse to pick up a DJI done... 😎

    Visual Navigation is a big trend in advanced algorithmic development for robotics recently. Stereolabs has been quietly moving from a 3D camera maker into a full #SpatialAI integrator with multi-camera fusion, detection, ground segmentation, visual odometry, terrain mapping, and much more using on-robot NVIDIA #Jetson compute modules. Since they manufacture the cameras, integrate with selected compute boards, and write their own software software, you get a tightly coupled solution that works well, immediately out-of-the-box.     🚀 End-of-Studies Project Showcase: Design of an AGV from an Electric Stacker 🚀 I am thrilled to share my #end_of_studies_project, a milestone in my journey as an #engineer. Conducted with Saphir Véhicules & Automobiles, a #leader in the #Tunisian_handling_industry and agent of #CHL Material Handling, #HAVAL, #GREATWALL, and #FOTON, the project involved designing an #Automated_Guided_Vehicle (AGV) from an electric #stacker, showcasing #innovation and #engineering. 📅 #Internship: March 1st, 2024 to June 30th, 2024. Completed during my final engineering year at EPI - International Multidisciplinary School, I presented this project on July 1st, 2024, and was awarded my degree with #highest #honors. 📌 Project #Highlights: • Objective: Transform a conventional #Electric_stacker into an #Autonomous_AGV to enhance #Efficiency in #Warehouse #Logistics. • Technology: Used #ROS, #AI, and #Computer_vision for precise navigation. • Context: Aimed for seamless integration with Warehouse Management Systems (#WMS) in the context of #Industry_4.0 and 5.0 for real-time #data exchange. • Relevance: Addressing logistics challenges in various scenarios, including #pandemics and #global_crises. 🛠️ Project #Steps: 1- #Reverse_Engineering: #Hardware & #Software selection. 2- #CAD: Designed the model in #SolidWorks. 3- Exported URDF file with #SW2URDF Plugin. 4- Imported URDF into #Gazebo for #simulation. 5- Added #Lidar, #Camera, #IMU, and #Controllers. 6- Manual #Odometry Calculation using a #Python script for #SLAM and navigation. 7- 2D SLAM: Created a 2D map using #Gmapping algorithm. (#SLAM_Toolbox ROS package) 8- #Autonomous_Navigation and obstacle detection with #Navigation_Stack ROS Package. 9- #Computer_Vision: Trained #YOLOv8 for detecting #pallets and #personnel. 10- #Emergency_Button: Designed the electrical schematic in #Proteus8. 📈 Outcome: • Validated #software_development using #Gazebo and #ROS. • Laid groundwork for future #WMS_integration and a #physical_prototype. 💡 Why This #Project? • To bridge the gap between affordable stackers (~4000 €) and high-cost AGVs (~24,000 €), providing a #cost_effective, #high_performance solution. 🙏 Acknowledgments: I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire SAVA team for their unwavering support and collaboration throughout this project. Special thanks to Open Robotics for the incredible #ROS platform, and to Steve Macenski for the invaluable packages.
