Kiwibot acquired ad startup Nickelytics for $25M to turn its delivery robots into mobile billboards. The revolutionary delivery company is now on nearly 30 college campuses worldwide with plans to continue expanding into #SouthFlorida. At its core, the aim of Kiwibot is to create more efficient ways to get things to humans. Lately, this has meant going beyond the company's original delivery objective.🚚 "The robot can do a social good by informing governments on sidewalk infrastructure," David Rodriguez, co-founder and Director of Strategy and Business Operations at Kiwibot, explained to us earlier this year.💡 Learn more in our latest On-Site: https://opp.miami/kiwibot #OpportunityMiami #DeliveryRobots #Accessibility #UrbanPlanning #Infrastructure #Resilience

Miami's transformation into a global #techhub is gaining recognition. In 2021, Miami's startups raised a record $5.33 billion in venture capital, solidifying its position as one of the fastest-growing tech ecosystems in the U.S. Despite a slight dip in venture activity in 2023, Miami remains a top 10 hub for #VC #investment. With its proximity to Latin America, favorable tax environment, and growing base of tech talent, Miami is poised to continue expanding. "We will become a hub of entrepreneurship globally, not just domestically," said Founder School CEO Edrizio De La Cruz in our latest interview. Miami embodies the American dream, especially for our vibrant, educated immigrant community. It's where the spirit of #entrepreneurship is woven into the fabric of our daily lives. Edrizio De La Cruz's journey—from selling guavas on the streets to selling his #fintech company to Mastercard—captures the essence of that dream. Now, through Founder School, he's empowering underrepresented entrepreneurs to follow in his footsteps. "I want to give others the opportunity to succeed, especially people who don't typically have access to the tools or funding they need," De La Cruz said in our latest interview. Launched two years ago, Tech Equity Miami is deploying $100 million over five years to initiatives that remove barriers to entry into the tech industry and expand economic opportunities for underrepresented groups, including youth and small businesses, in the area. The startup has already committed over $70 million to 34 projects. Part of the work is to ensure the Miami of 2040 is not only more innovative but also more #inclusive. Tech may have exacerbated the disparity in some communities, but if done right, it can also serve as "one of the greatest accelerants of socioeconomic mobility and opportunity generation."
