  • We proudly support Washington’s commitment to LEED building and actively help the state and our clients advance sustainability. The USGBC ranks Washington among the top ten states for LEED projects in the country! The Redmond Senior & Community Center (pursuing LEED Gold, tracking Platinum) earned national recognition for the first-ever LEED innovation point granted by the USGBC for utilizing climate-resilient wood. Our team traced and verified the source of lumber for the center’s mass plywood panels—proving that mass timber can drive ecological, social and design innovation." City of Redmond, WA Johnston Architects At CWU’s North Academic Complex (pursuing LEED Gold), Opsis led the initiative to source wood for the feature atrium wall from the Yakama Nation. While mass timber was an initial project goal, our team advocated for the use of regionally sourced wood that promotes sustainable forest management in Washington and supports the local Tribal economy. Central Washington University NAC The UW IMA Locker Rooms & Pool Upgrade (LEED Gold) embraces sustainability and inclusivity. Our team led an eco-charette that resulted in the exploration and integration of biophilic design principles in the locker room design. The all-gender locker rooms depart from traditional gender-coded palettes, fostering a more welcoming and inclusive experience.
