#ICYMI: March was all about celebrating the heart of our organization…our incredible employees! From Employee Appreciation Day to our annual Employee Picnic, we had a blast showing our thanks with games, prizes, laughter, and lots (and lots!) of good food. The Osceola County Office of Sustainability and Solid Waste Management recently visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom & Fort Wilderness to meet with their Environmental Sustainability Team and explore innovative recycling efforts. During the visit, the team got an exclusive look at Disney’s award-winning glass pulverizer, which turns recycled glass into a sand-like material used on horse trails at Fort Wilderness Resort and replacing the use of coquina shells in greenhouses across WDW. Osceola County shared details about its own EPA-funded Responsible Recycling Osceola program and mobile glass pulverizer, highlighting local sustainability efforts.
