Outpost is reimagining, from first principles, how a satellite mission would change if the satellite was reusable. The key to reusability is recovering the satellite safely on Earth in one piece. Here is how we do that. May 22 2024, Tucson AZ, Altitude 20km, 165 mile flight

Outpost was selected for a $33.2M Air Force STRATFI contract to develop Earth return vehicles for hypersonic testing and re-entry missions. This award supports four missions with our Ferryall vehicle and the development of Carryall, capable of returning up to 10 tons of cargo. The US Military must advance capability to deliver urgent payloads into contested logistics environments, such as INDOPACOM. Outpost will make it possible to launch supplies from the US and get to any spot on Earth through space. This news comes just after Outpost announced $3M in contracts from the Air Mobility Command and the Rocket Cargo program to develop on-orbit warehousing and re-entry systems for point to point delivery missions. Outpost’s capabilities are pure dual-use where commercially we are focused on enabling multi-ton returns of space-manufactured products. Outpost’s first product will be fiber optic cables, which benefit from fewer defects in microgravity. Space-made fiber optic cables deliver unmatched performance, essential for the next generation of data centers. These advanced cables will meet the surging demand for high-speed connectivity, crucial for AI, cloud computing, and other data-intensive technologies. Our founder, Jason Dunn, pioneered the production of space-made fiber at Made In Space and now we are making it commercially viable with the ability to return multiple tons of product per flight.
