    It's always great to get a nod from Lenny Murphy ... EthOS was an original play in Mobile Ethnography, working with some of the biggest Global Brands. It still does to this day, as the platform has evolved and been an innovator in the space under the leadership of Paul Chesterman, David Watkins, and Anne Collins.     "Well, here goes nothing," as the saying goes. I used to be "a runner." No marathons or speed-oriented races, just running a few times a week for exercise and enjoyment. To me, there is nothing like running down the road, or a trail, to get your cardio and let your mind wander. Around ~2018, I had to stop. My right knee was bone on bone. Doctors told me it was "too early" to replace it. "Wait until you are older" (Some of the worst advice ever.) In December of 2022, I had a total knee replacement. If you didn't know, let me tell you, recovery and rehab for a knee replacement is HARD work! Running again would have to wait a while. About 11 months in, I was feeling like I was getting there. "I think I can run again!" The excitement was building. About that time, I started having pain in my shoulders. It progressed to my hips and legs. Then my left hand ballooned up. It looked like Popeye the Sailor Man. MRIs, X-rays, Ultrasounds, scores of blood tests, therapy sessions, all trying to figure out what was happening. Many days just getting out of the chair was difficult. Running was not on the horizon. Finally, this past summer (8 months after this started), I was diagnosed with Seronegative RA. With some medication and a low inflammation diet, my symptoms have mostly diminished (except for the knots in my knuckles, but that's a different story). Which brings us to the present. Yesterday, I went on my first official "Run" (more like a run-walk interval, but hey - it counts for me) in years. I cannot adequately express how exhilarating it was! I am so grateful. Running down the road with a big smile on my face.... I am thankful for my family, my doctors, my friends, and my co-workers for the support. And I am thankful to God for my health and the opportunity to enjoy running again.     A visual representation of how Q4 can feel... However, this year it's feeling great to be at OvationMR! With our recent acquisition of the awesome EthOS team, new Qualibee tools to be released, and a stealth product we're finally about to announce, I may not even need big doses of Vitamin D this winter. Though TMRE had to be postponed, James Whaley, Michel Jones, Jennifer Whaley, and I had a lot of time to talk 2025 and beyond while we waited out the hurricane in Orlando (story for another time...). Stay tuned for more, and in the meantime, also follow Bart Borkosky and Claire Kuhn for their content on all of the great research work we've been able to do leveraging M/L and AI. Technology is only one asset we have at OvationMR. The biggest is our expert researchers like Bart and Claire who know how and when to use it!

    Its time to take research out of the lab and into consumer’s everyday lives… The insights industry is undergoing a massive transformation driven by how consumers engage with brands today. Attention spans are shrinking, and with overwhelming content competing for our focus, brands must adapt or be left behind. In this fast-paced landscape, consumer journeys are no longer linear, and they must address holistic pain points rather than just offering quick solutions. At the heart of this change is authenticity. Today's consumers crave genuine connections with the brands they choose to engage with. They want brands to speak their language, understand their needs, and be transparent. Gone are the days when a flashy ad campaign could buy loyalty. Now, it’s about showing up authentically, time and again, in ways that align with consumers’ values and lives. We need to rethink how we capture consumer sentiment for the insights industry. We must meet people where they live—both literally and metaphorically. Insights must shift from being a burdensome process to something that feels like a natural, almost effortless part of everyday life. No longer should it be only about extracting data from behind a one-way mirror and long repetitive surveys. Instead, insights must be a brief, thoughtful gesture that seamlessly integrates into consumers’ routines without being intrusive. If we can do this, we will unlock not just data but actionable understanding. In this disrupted world, the brands that will win are those that leverage insights to build genuine, impactful relationships with their consumers—relationships that are human, relevant, and real.
