📢 Latest insights on mobile use in online surveys Did you know that mobile devices now account for 59% of online survey starts – an increase of around 10% year-on-year? 📈 Since 2018, we’ve been partnering with the Market Research Society (MRS) and three other leading industry players to investigate mobile usage in online research around the globe. Last year, we analyzed traffic data from across 13 countries, and took a deep dive into demographic, psychographic, and behavioural differences between mobile and desktop survey takers. 🔍 Key insights: ✅ Device users are demographically different. Mobile is the go-to device for respondents of all age groups under 60, with 77% of those aged 18–24 starting surveys on their phones. Conversely, 53% of respondents aged 60+ start surveys on a desktop/laptop vs. 44% only on a mobile device. ✅ Device preference for different online activities is strong between mobile and desktop/laptop survey takers. Age and gender aside, people select their device depending on online task: 72% of mobile survey takers prefer shopping on their mobile device, compared to only 41% of desktop/laptop respondents. ✅ Strict device quotas are not needed. There were enough similarities between mobile and desktop/laptop survey takers to make this unnecessary. What does this mean for online research? A device-agnostic approach is vital for representativity among online survey takers. Excluding specific devices would mean we risk missing crucial insights – just like running an ice cream taste test with only people who like vanilla.🍦 Read the blog and watch the webinar hosted by MRS to find out more. https://okt.to/wf7GEL #mrx #mobile #mobileoptimisation #mobileusage #mobileusageinresearch
