On the road with Step Up 'N Ride, a local non-profit bus service for the Dawson Creek community. They provide much needed transportation services to seniors, veterans, people with diverse abilities or special needs, as well as student transportation. We recently partnered with them, to provide children in need with supplies and backpacks for the back-to-school season. The team in Dawson rallied together at the Ovintiv Events Centre, filling and packing 200 backpacks for the entire bus! We recently sponsored the Healing the Land conference hosted by Saulteau First Nations at their beautiful new cultural center, near Moberly Lake, BC. The conference enabled sharing of Indigenous and western knowledge and expertise related to protecting and restoring the land. The conference brought together representatives from SFN and other Treaty 8 First Nations, Government of British Columbia, BC Energy Regulator, and academic institutions.
