Last week, we had a Day of Action with @glamourmag to deliver our petition to pass paid leave with over 55,000 signatures to every Senator and Member of Congress. But we made sure they heard from more than just 55,000 of you. As our petition states, “There is a human cost to the lack of paid leave, and families are paying it.” We’d add that disproportionately, that means women, women of color most of all. We reminded Washington that women decide elections, and we want to be very clear that issues like paid leave, care — freedom and family both — are at the top of the agenda for voters. We asked all of you what a lack of federal paid leave costs you and the responses poured in. #NoPaidLeaveCostMe reached millions of you online, and millions more through coverage on outlets like GMA and local stations nationwide. Thanks to you there has been a 10,447% uptick in digital conversation about paid leave for all. We hope every leader in the country is listening. This year, Paid Leave for All is choosing not just to bet on women, but to invest in them.
