We've worked with 50+ seed stage startups hiring their first leaders in: marketing, operations, finance, and product Here's five tips we give to every founder to run the best possible process: 1. Be transparent Some startups have particularly intense hours. Some lack the capital to make significant salary offers. Most require a skillset outside of the job title. Each one provides an entirely unique environment. Transparency is self-selecting — being upfront with what you're really expecting will tighten your funnel. ----- 2. Solve, then hire. This applies to a lot of functions but growth is an easy example. Don't hire to grow, hire when you've already achieved growth, and need someone to scale it. The startups that have hired most successfully with us didn't need operators to figure out how to operate, but to make existing systems more efficient. ----- 3. The value of equity is seen in vision, not in dollars. Early stage hiring is marked by large equity packages. Commonly, founders will sell the financial upside of owning a significant part of their business. But you want candidates to draw their own conclusions. You can never come up with a more convincing dollar amount then the one imagined when you communicate a clearcut vision on how you'll reach the next level. ----- 4. Impact is king. Every successful employee at an early stage startup will provide a huge impact to the business as a whole. We've noticed that stressing the opportunity for impact and ownership is one of the most resonant messages towards candidates. People want to be leaders. ----- 5. Treat every convo as a pitch. In initial conversations both parties are vetting each other. This applies to startups even further down the line. Most candidates you originally source are not gonna be instantly interested in what you do. The burden of interest lies with you.

We carefully vet both sides of our recruitment marketplace, with the help of rockstar creators like Lenny Rachitsky Packy McCormick Dan Shipper Nikhil Krishnan This ensures that all companies on Pallet clear a high bar for: growth, traction, reputation, culture. Here are some of our incredible hiring partners. If you'd like to be put in touch, feel free to comment or DM us. 1. Niantic, Inc. — creator of some of the world's most popular games, a powerful AR engine, and original creators of Google Maps. We're helping them hire a Director of Product. 2. Notion — one of the most beautifully designed and powerful workspaces on the market. We've been users of Notion ourselves for years. We're helping them hire multiple product roles as they continue to maintain absurdly high standards of excellence. 3. Care+Wear — a mission driven healthware startup bringing humanity back to healthcare. Care+Wear has partnerships with some of the largest hospitals in the US, and is closing on a very exciting Series A. We're helping them hire a Head of Finance. 4. Fourthwall — as a player in the creator space ourselves, Fourthwall's mission speak to us: helping creators launch their own unique products. They already work with some of the largest creators. We're helping them hire a Head of Growth. 5. Xapo Bank — Xapo is the bridge between crypto and traditional finance. They've built a banking app with outstanding features. And they're backed by some of the most impressive investors out there: Softbank and Ribbit Capital. We're helping them hire a Senior Performance Marketing Manager. 6. Synthesia — building an insanely powerful text to video platform. Their team is as impressive as they come, rostering some of the most accomplished computer vision engineers in the entire world. And all of their algorithms are totally proprietary. We're helping them build out their product team. 7. Composer — Composer is opening up the floodgates to financial trading by building user friendly tools. Anyone can make sophisticated trades, no code required. You can literally type-to-strategy. Were helping them hire a Performance Marketing Lead. Who should we work with next?
