I’m building the world's longest resume | Video Creator with 1.5 Million+ Followers across Instagram, TikTok & YouTube and Facebook @gabriel.desanti | gabriel@abovebeyondmedia.com
Why I joined a Patreon as a creator in 2024 🧠 1. Community - More than ever, algorithms determine what we see based on our subconscious actions. That means even the most dedicated members of our communities can miss the things we are posting online. Patreon serves as a place that is built specifically so our community can stay in touch with what we are doing, as well as with each other. 2. Content - I've built a brand off of a pretty identifiable series and format. It's a format that works great on algorithm-based platforms, however I know the core of my community wants more. They want to get to know me better, and they're willing to digest less polished content that allows for that. Posting on Patreon allows me to share more with them without worrying about performance. 3. Sustainability - This one is the most important for me. I've wanted to make videos online since I was 13 and as I get older I find myself transitioning from a desire to grow a larger audience to wanting to create longevity in this career. But I've always had a mental back and forth with "taking" money from the people who support me and It wasn't until I had a conversation with Hayley Rosenblum that it clicked. She told me "It's about ALLOWING that core community to support you because they truly want to and they are looking for more ways to be involved". Director of Marketing at Storyblocks, Founder of Happy Queer Media, LLC, & Podcast Producer at exes & o's with Shannon Beveridge
2 weeks ago I flew to LA for Shannon Beveridge's first LIVE exes & o's show, powered by Patreon. I've truly never experienced a better fan-focused event in my life. I don't have enough positive adjectives in my vocabulary to accurately describe the work Hailey Newkirk and her team did. Patreon has a belief in the "true fan," and it's rare you see a brand take their mission and ethos SO seriously - and *actually* put their effort and resources towards it. I have worked with a lot of brand teams, and Patreon's team... wow. Shannon’s been online for well over a decade. And if you ask me why I work with Shannon, it’s because of who she is for and to her “true fans.” When Shannon started posting videos on tumblr, representation was unbelievably scarce, so many of her fans found safety, familiarity and found family in her content. And she found that in them. The bond and respect they have for each other is so powerful. Shannon's Patrons (and family and friends) got the experience of a lifetime - free tattoos, Rebecca Black (Yes, THE Rebecca Black) dj'ing around a pool with the craziest view I've seen in LA, a photo booth that SO accurately recreated Shannon's room / podcast set, drinks, food, a live show, and *time with Shannon.* I still can't believe it happened, but fortunately there is proof! If you want to come watch me ask Shannon lots of questions and see the event for yourself... join her Patreon and watch live with Shannon and me tomorrow, 𝙏𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙙𝙖𝙮 8/29 𝙖𝙩 3𝙥𝙢 𝙀𝙎𝙏. Thrilled to be featured on Patreon's "Humans of Patreon" series (h/t to Humans of New York, the OG "Humans of..." project, who is on Patreon!). I am especially excited to share my advice for other community managers: In Community work, you'll find that everything boils down to this: people just want to be seen and heard. If you show up for your community, listen, acknowledge what you hear, and whenever possible share back how what you've heard is being considered, you'll build an authentic trust and reputation within the community you're representing and leading. It's important not to over promise and under deliver, so try to be candid and direct, and whenever possible, demonstrate the care you bring to your community, and the impact that community members have on each other. https://lnkd.in/em7eA-QD

Nobody will remember: - your salary - how “busy you were” - how many hours you worked People will remember: - that there are creators on Patreon making a living sending postcards like this to their fans (check out creator Alan Wagner at https://lnkd.in/dScppUMM to get comedy postcards like this of your very own)
