Last night we gathered to warmly welcome this year's incoming Independence Foundation Public Interest Law Fellows, including PHLP's @Meggie McCarthy-White. It was a joy to gather with such passionate legal aid professionals, all of whom share a commitment to improving access to justice. Thank you to the Independence Foundation for hosting such a wonderful welcome reception, and for the Foundation's continued, unwavering support for the Philadelphia legal aid community. 📷 credit: Debby Freedman/Community Legal Services

Last week, CMS released comprehensive guidance to support states in ensuring the 38 million children with Medicaid and CHIP health insurance coverage – nearly half of the children in the United States – receive the full range of health care services they need. “We need to make sure our children have what they need to stay well. Medicaid makes that possible,” said HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra. “This guidance to our states today will help millions of kids get the services that are crucial to their health and development, no matter where they live.” The guidance, released in a State Health Official letter, is available in full here: https://lnkd.in/g8krvpka
