At work, I use my language to bridge the gap between staff and tradespeople who do not speak English, helping to prevent communication challenges and overcoming negative feelings that can result. It’s personal to me that everyone is treated with the same respect, regardless of their first language. “Hispanics play a significant role in the construction sector, comprising a large portion of the workforce. However, we still lack representation at the senior and executive levels. As a Pioneer of Change, I aspire to pave the way for the next generation of Hispanic leaders, supporting their development and making it easier for them to achieve their career goals. Along the way, I want to foster a space where no one feels the need to mask their personal identity to fit into a mold that others define as ‘normal.’ Every individual needs to know that they truly belong.”

Our Pepper excavation team performed a structural excavation and backfill in the Intuit Gallery Museum renovations 5,000 SF basement. Logistics were a major challenge but with the conveyer we were able to move the 2,000 tons of material. #Pepperdigs #Excavation

“A birds-eye view or a construction-lift view of progress we’re making building Brookfield Zoo Chicago’s Tropical Forests habitat. These are just two of the new outside habitats being constructed for the primate residents that will have stimulating animal enrichment features built in, expansive climbing structures, and grasses and vines. This new habitat will bring guests at the Zoo closer than ever to primates like gorillas and orangutans, truly allowing them to look nature in the eye.
