Today, we're launching the first version of Perplexity's Enterprise Search, called "Internal Knowledge Search". For a long time, people have wanted one single tool and platform to do all their research at work. And research isn't restricted to just knowledge that lies internally; you want the insights from the web in the context of what's most relevant to your organization. Yet, the tools that supported external search and internal search were fragmented, separate, and built on completely different legacy tech stacks; making it difficult to have one consolidated tool. With the advent of LLMs, multi-step reasoning, and tool use; it is now possible to address this issue and offer a fresh take on all research within an enterprise: be it internal files or external web, and we're glad to pioneer this at Perplexity. Enterprise is not just about file access, but also collaboration and customization. We're also excited to launch "Perplexity Spaces", a simple way for you build research hubs where you can upload persistent files (to have them as additional sources), pick an AI model of your choice, write custom instructions for the type of response you want, and invite collaborators to share your threads. Collaboratively picking which files to add to a space lets you address a big issue in Enterprise Search: "ranking" - which files actually matter for the company; and we believe users picking them is a solid way to address duplication, incomplete / incorrect / outdated documents etc that aren't addressed with connectors. This feature is also available to regular users who want to build custom spaces for repeat use cases of Perplexity. Spaces is already available on the sidebar to all users; and existing Enterprise users should already be able to toggle between Web & Org mode for their sources and start uploading files on their Settings tab!
