The long awaited FloatLab, a project in partnership with Mural Arts Philadelphia and PIDC partner Bartram's Garden, is slated to open in summer 2026! This fantastic project promises breathtaking views, a serene escape, and a unique way to connect with our beautiful city. The lime green deck will serve as a kayak launch point, fishing spot, art gallery, and educational space, all accessible to the public at no cost. We can’t wait to see this dream become a reality!

⭐Community development leader spotlight: Meet Jodie H., President of Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC)!  This year, RWJF provided a cohort of five community development organizations led by people with lived experience in the communities they serve with flexible, unrestricted funding to support them in their efforts to create a more just, healthy, and equitable community development ecosystem. Jodie Harris and her team at PIDC use funds like this to help advance their mission to ensure all neighborhoods across Philadelphia have the resources they need to thrive. From providing financing to businesses to supporting real estate development projects, their work is crucial to their community. As a Philly native, Harris has both seen and experienced the disparities within various communities and knows that each place has different needs. Her personal connections and lived experiences put her in the best position to recognize these nuances and work towards deploying social and financial capital in ways that serve each community's residents and businesses. Harris believes no such thing as a “one size fits all” approach.  Learn more about her story and how PIDC is helping to equitably distribute resources in Philadelphia to make sure all communities get what they need.
