We design and manufactured high-end telescopes optimized to have pin-point stars across large fields of view. Most telescopes designs suffer from off axis aberations. Our design, the CDK, offers a flat, coma free and astigmatic free field of view. This is ideal for visual and CCD imaging.

    This week's #repost goes to, APOD Winner, Ani Shastry!💫 "The beautiful Tulip Nebula, or Sh2-101, located in the constellation of Cygnus approximately 6,000 light years away from our Earth, elucidates its shape magnificently from the background of Hydrogen-Alpha stellar nebulosity through additional Oxygen-III and Sulfur-II emissions. Furthermore, just to the right of the image underneath the bluish arc, the brighter of the two stars is a micro-quasar, termed Cygnus X-1, that is the site of one of the first suspected Black Holes. The arc is supposed to have been created by a jet of energetic particles from the Black Hole as they interact with the stellar medium.     This week's #repost goes to @christophevergnes and Aziz Kaeouach!💫 "The galaxy M 83, also cataloged NGC 5236, is a spiral galaxy located in the direction of the constellation Hydra, about 15 million light years from Earth. Medium-sized and similar to our own Milky Way, M 83 is a barred spiral galaxy, meaning it has a central bar of stars and dust that extends several thousand light years. Around this bar are spiral arms containing very active star forming regions. Indeed, one of the most striking features of M83 is its magnificent spiral arms densely filled with young blue stars. These stars are actively forming in these arms, giving the galaxy a vibrant and colorful appearance. Besides its visual appeal, what sets this magnificent galaxy apart from others is its massive halo of gas and dust that extends far beyond its spiral arms. This halo is the product of billions of years of evolution of the galaxy M 83. Researchers believe that this halo was formed during interactions and collisions with other galaxies several billion years ago, and that these interactions continue to influence the evolution of the galaxy.     Our partner Hellas-Sky (www.hellas-sky.com) is now testing all the new equipment that we have installed in the last months (2x PlaneWave Instruments DeltaRho 350 f/3, a Celestron, LLC. Rasa 36cm f/2.2 as well as a new PlaneWave CDK17 in the existing Baader 3.5m Allsky Dome). The tests of the new hardware were successful! Check out the images – Congratulations! M82: LRGB with Planewave CDK17 In 2023 our team dismantled the old instrumentation and replaced it with 10Micron GM3000 HPS with PlaneWave CDK17 and the latest camera technology in the existing 3.5m Allsky Dome. https://lnkd.in/dGxtn-yF In May 2024, we installed two extraordinary telescope systems for deep-sky photography, data acquisition and public events at this location.     The new telescope, a PlaneWave Instruments DeltaRho 350 for the ATHOS Centro Astronómico La Palma has arrived and found its way onto the mount in the observatory. We are already looking forward to the first images with the telescope. This f/3 telescope with Cassegrain focus has only 1,050 mm focal length at 350 mm aperture for stunning results in widefield astrophotography.

    This week's #repost goes to Rod Pommier! 💫 "NGC 4565 is an edge-on Hubble class SB spiral galaxy that lies approximately 40 million light-years from Earth. It's location marks the Galactic North Pole, similar to how Polaris marks the North Celestial Pole. This means we have a view of it which is perpendicular to our Milky Way galaxy's equatorial dust plane, providing a view virtually impeded by galactic dust. In stark contrast, NGC 4565's equatorial dust plane is oriented nearly directly toward us, making its equatorial dust lane plainly visible and we can see that it divides the galaxy's central bulge almost equally with the galaxy's bright nucleus shining just to one side of the dust lane. Because of its orientation, our galaxy is hidden from view from much of NGC 4565. The spiral galaxy to the upper left is NGC 4562a nd the galaxy directly below the core is IC 3571. Many distant PGC galaxies are scattered throughout the image. Telescope/Mount: CDK400-- CDK17 on L-500 series mount. Location: Pommier Observatory, Portland, OR, USA.
