In honor of World Mental Health Day (celebrated every year on October 10th), PMC is pleased to share a new resource developed, in part, by our Director of Research, Evaluation and Impact, Amy Henderson Riley, DrPH, MCHES prior to coming to PMC. The UNICEF SBC Toolkit for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) is a package of tools for SBC practitioners and researchers. For over a decade, PMC’s Director of Research, Evaluation, and Impact Dr. Amy Henderson Riley has been collecting hundreds of resources on entertainment-education (EE) including journal articles, reports, books, videos, and more. So when the Social Impact Entertainment (SIE) Society asked her if she had any articles on the topic for a new SIE Academic Library , she laughed. “Yes, I have several hundred,” she replied. “I’d be happy to share.” The purpose of the SIE Academic Library is to host an open-source database on EE and SIE. Often, academic resources are housed behind paywalls and in libraries that are only accessible to currently enrolled institutions. The library is designed to be a living resource that professionals can add to and curate. SIE members can suggest resources such as case studies and impact reports. The objective is to help demystify these closely related disciplines and work together for future entertainment impact goals across silos. PMC is happy to assist with this project and serve as a top sponsor for the upcoming Impact + Profit Conference , which will be held December 5 & 6 in Los Angeles.
