Thank you for highlighting the importance of the Port of Albany's offshore wind expansion project! It was a pleasure to host the tour following this year’s Alliance for Clean Energy New York Annual Fall Conference. We are thrilled to play a pivotal role in advancing clean energy initiatives in the Capital Region. This project not only positions the Port of Albany as a key player in the offshore wind supply chain but also reinforces our commitment to sustainability and innovation. Collaborating with industry partners, we aim to create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and contribute to New York's clean energy goals. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this project will have on our community and the environment!

Earlier this week the Port of Albany, Gilbane Building Company, LaBella Associates and Equinor ‘s SBMT safety team came together for a productive meeting focused on safety and sharing valuable insights. The half-day session took place at the Port of Albany's Beacon Island development site. The discussions were thought-provoking and sparked meaningful dialogue about the development of port infrastructure and best practices. The primary goal was to ensure a safe working environment for all members of the workforce involved in these major large-scale port projects. But it didn't stop there. The participants also emphasized the importance of mental health services for the workforce, both on and off the job site. It's crucial to provide the necessary support to ensure the well-being of every individual involved in these projects. We're thrilled to have had this opportunity to collaborate and exchange knowledge and proud of Gilbane’s safety record and leadership. Stay tuned for more updates on our LinkedIn page as we continue to prioritize safety and well-being in our port infrastructure development endeavors! #PortofAlbany #SafetyFirst #Collaboration #PortDevelopment #MentalHealth

Panels and committees talked through issues related to workforce challenges, offshore wind, the cruise industry, the electrification of ports, how growing ports coexist with their neighbors, financial challenges, insuring assets and port land use matters, amongst many other topics. Today is Destroyer Escort Day. Dozens took part in a moving ceremony this morning at the USS Slater honoring all those who have served and those who are currently serving our country so bravely. The Slater is the last DE still afloat in the United States. Thank you to all of the workers and volunteers that keep this treasure in Albany.
