💡Thrilled to be included on Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas list for 2024! The list honors companies and organizations that are tackling some of our toughest challenges, and setting out to build products that improve the world. At Prewitt Ridge, we’re proud to deliver software that brings new levels of efficiency and collaboration to the engineering teams that are building world-changing technology, namely those designing and building complex hardware systems such as planes, satellites, and rockets. These teams are working on highly technical engineering projects, which require a multitude of tools for design and analysis. They rely on requirements to make those projects achievable, but these requirements and data are often siloed in these tools. At the same time, assessing the impact of any variation in those requirements on the whole system is a challenging and manual process that could result in mistakes, and those mistakes could bring delays, cost overruns, and even catastrophic system failures. Prewitt Ridge’s software helps engineers seamlessly access and distribute requirements across all of the toolsets that teams use. This boosts productivity, breaks down communication barriers, and ultimately speeds up system design timelines. In other words, it helps engineers move faster and break less along the way. Most importantly, this provides more space for the creativity that is necessary to build world-changing products. This recognition gives us more fuel to accelerate the development of high-impact hardware! Check out the full list at the link in the comments! #deeptech #engineering #hardware

Out and about for LA Tech Week! The weeklong series is bringing startups, investors, and industry leaders together, inside some of the spaces where innovation is happening today. I started my week at the J.P. Morgan Startup Breakfast on the rooftop of NeueHouse in Venice Beach. Great way to kick off the event with networking and fellowship. Special thanks to Marc-Lloyd Ramniceanu of J.P. Morgan for hosting the event! Later, I went to Long Beach Airport, where Ampaire's aviation hangar played host to a panel discussion with startup leaders, focusing on talent acquisition. Wonderful to see such a great turnout, as 200 leaders in the LA aerospace and defense community came to the event. It has been amazing watching the Ampaire team grow into their new facility. It was great seeing the energy and innovation happening at the Long Beach Airport — the airfield is becoming a startup hub! It’s impressive to see how the airport management team has embraced the tech community. Special thanks to Kevin Noertker & Cory Combs of Ampaire for hosting the afternoon event as well. Great seeing Michael Segal, Kevin Plascencia, Yuk Chi Chan, York Zhang, Matt Davis of ingage.solutions. Hope to see you out at LA Tech Week! #startups #latechweek #aerospace

Great to be with the hardware community during LA Tech Week! On Thursday, the Prewitt Ridge team was onhand at the LA Hardware Happy Hour at the headquarters of Duro in Echo Park. This event showed the value of a collaborative environment, as we gathered with about 75 early stage founders, hardware engineers, investors, and others! And we definitely appreciated the tacos! We’re big believers in the power of modern software to revolutionize hardware development. Events like these show how LA is leading the way! Thanks again to Michael Corr and the Duro team for hosting the event. We’re proud cosponsors of the event alongside Epsilon3 and Quarter20 Inc.. #latechweek #hardware #startups Gary Redman

Last week at NY TECH WEEK by a16z was truly incredible! With over 700 events, it was clear from the start that this was going to be a fantastic opportunity to connect and significantly grow within the tech community, specifically the deep tech community. The Space x Aerospace Happy Hour at NY Tech Week was definitely a highlight of the week. Organized by Charter Space, Prewitt Ridge, Little Place Labs, Solideon, Exovolar, and 615.vc, it was one of the best events of the week. It was great to meet so many Techstars Space Accelerator alumni in one place, and the enthusiasm and energy in the room were off the charts. It was definitely a night to remember, and I was privileged to be able to help and support this event, thanks Oliver Muoto for the opportunity. I also attended the Deep Tech Founders & Funders event organized by Squadra Ventures, AIN Ventures, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, where I had the opportunity to meet many amazing people, including Sherman Williams II, Stacey Jones, and so many others. Another highlight from last week was the incredible opportunity I had to present Melagen Labs at the South Park Commons Science Meetup. From an R&D lab to an airport hangar, SoCal Deep Tech Week offered a great opportunity to go inside the spaces where engineering happens on Wednesday with Motivo and UP.Partners I joined a tour of Motivo’s R&D facility. It was wonderful to be with an engaged, intimate group discussing future technologies that will be major market players over the next 10 years. Motivo is hired by founders and other hardware companies to actually build their ideas and bring them to life. It’s great to see the company on the leading edge of technology, solving some of the biggest hardware and software problems we face today. They really stand out as a leader in the engineering services industry with their agile principles and a collaborative environment. Later, I went to Hangar 7 at Santa Monica Airport— super cool! That’s where the UP.Partners Applied AI Robotics Industry Mixer tool place, complete with a Joby Aviation eVTOL aircraft on display. It was great to see so many leaders in LA’s deep tech community in one place! Special thanks to Jay V. and UP.Partners for hosting the mixer at such a fantastic location! Great seeing Colby Harvey of Ultraview AI , Kevin Plascencia, Owen Fileti, Yuk Chi Chan of Charter, James Bolden Ph.D and the support of Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC). That’s a wrap for my SoCal Deep Tech Week. There’s no doubt this region has the leaders, the vision, the spaces, and the spirit to solve hard problems. Much appreciation to everyone who worked hard to make the event happen! #engineering #deeptech #hardware

It is absolutely awesome to see the LA defense and aerospace tech community turn out in force for SoCal Deep Tech. On Monday, the State of the Aerospace & Defense Complex gathered about 150 people for three panels, including an insightful keynote from True Anomaly Chief Strategy Officer and former US Space Force leader Frank DiPentino. On Tuesday, technology that is integrating and innovating with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) took the stage at the FATHOMWERX Summit. It was especially impressive to see the new offerings from HavocAI and the drone company Ovrwatch, and the strong presence from the Ventura Tech Bridge. As I travel between events this week, I’ve been reflecting on a couple things. Now more than ever, there’s a consistent presence in the LA defense tech ecosystem. After years of building, there is a solid, committed group of individuals that shows up and builds toward a common goal. It’s gratifying to be a part of it, and inspiring to think about how we can come together to solve big problems. Over the last two days, this group has coalesced around a common message: To produce a great product, you have to get the requirements right. If we don’t understand the capabilities we really need for the next conflict and formulate the right requirements for our hardware, then we can’t win. We’re doing our part to support engineers developing that hardware every day at Prewitt Ridge, and will continue to work with the entire DIB ecosystem to see it through. Throughout the week, it has been great to see Michael Segal of BizVets LA, Rahul Singh, Jay V., Owen Fileti, Nate Punla, Travis DeMeester, Kevin Plascencia, Nate Mason, York Zhang, Lucas Hoffmann of HavocAI, Jongwon Park of Archimedes Defense, Yuk Chi Chan of Charter, and Troy Clarke, Inland Empire Tech Bridge Director. #aerospace #engineering #hardware
