Last week, several of our team members headed to Columbus for the Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference (OTEC), the premier gathering for industry leaders to explore innovative strategies for moving people and goods safely and efficiently across the state! One of the standout moments was Dan Todd, P.E.'s captivating presentation on the King Ave Bridge Replacement project. Here’s a sneak peek of what he shared: The Warren County Engineer's Office recently completed the construction of a 520 feet long (2 span) bridge on King Ave. over the Little Miami River. The new bridge now carries approx. 10,000 vehicles per day on two wider lanes of traffic and a separated shared-use path across a State and National Scenic River. A precast arch bridge, adjacent to the river bridge, now spans over the Little Miami Scenic Trail, eliminating a dangerous at grade road and trail crossing. The new bridge also carries a water main and sanitary sewer across the river. Other improvements include a new parking lot for the trail, roundabout at the intersection of the trail access and a development that includes apartments and a brewery, and improved geometry of roadway. Sending a huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making this conference a success! Your hard work and dedication are what drive our industry forward.

Shoutout to our amazing Akron, OH team for their dedication to the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Akron-Canton! Since 2019, they’ve been involved with the local ACE Mentorship chapter and have piloted the program at two different schools. Dana Mitchell (SVP Architecture & Engineering) has been instrumental in orchestrating most of the involvement, and there have been a handful of employees who have spent countless hours volunteering across approximately 6 different high schools in the area! It’s through this program that architecture, construction, and engineering are not only better explained to these students, but career pathways are revealed, and doors are opened. PRIME AE has hosted over a dozen of these students in “Career Shadowing Days” and have even hired one as a summer intern. ACE Mentorship gives the students a taste of what is to work in this field, but also strengthens PRIME AE’s ties to the community and commitment to giving back to our profession and our community. Swipe for more from ACE Mentor Zachary Forney and Intern Peter Van Blargan!

Our Jacksonville office presented their 4th Annual Cabaret Haiti Mission Charity Golf Tournament! Cabaret Haiti Mission (CHM) operates an orphanage, caring for 39 children, a school, teaching and feeding over 1,000 children, and employs over 100 Haitians. Additionally, they support two community churches, adult education, and a medical clinic. The funds raised go directly to this cause, which means so much right now given the extreme gang violence and take-over in the country. On Friday, August 30th, we were able to help raise $27,000 for CHM alongside our clients, subconsultants, peers, friends, and family. Sending a special thank you to BrianTripPhoto for capturing the day! With: Prosser | PRIME AE

Check out these photos from the completed Military Installation in the Midwest for American Water! This project provides American Water with a permanent operations center on base to efficiently provide a safe and sustainable drinking and wastewater system. In a great showcase of our collaborative disciplines, PRIME AE provided architecture, civil, structural, MEP, design, engineering, estimating, and construction administration services. The new building is a Pre-Engineered Metal Building given the tight project budget, but customized to complement the surrounding architecture, given the design-guidelines of the base. These unique customizations include exterior colors, arched entrance canopy, and stonework that reflect the design elements of the older, pre-existing buildings.
