About us
Project Recover’s vision is: (i) to repatriate every American service member who has not come home through research, searches, recoveries and other methodologies; (ii) to provide information and closure to the families of service members; (iii) to provide a platform to educate the public on the importance of service to one’s country; and (iv) to provide unique educational opportunities in the areas of science, technology, history, leadership, public service and diplomacy to a committed student audience, in conjunction with Project Recover’s mission, in order to provide a real world application to students and further educate the public.

Today we remember 2nd Lt Robert Bruce Bidgood, a beacon of courage and honor. 🇺🇸 2nd Lt Robert Bruce “Bob” Bidgood of Dublin, GA, served as a Co-Pilot on a B-25 nicknamed “Tinkie”, as part of the 500th Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium, in the USAAF during World War II. On April 16, 1944, Tinkie took off on a bombing mission. On the return flight, they encountered intense thunderstorms. After entering huge cloud cover, he and the rest of his six-man crew were never seen again. April 16, 1944 is known as “Black Sunday” for the Air Force. A total of 37 planes were destroyed or missing that day, and another 9 were damaged due to the weather. Though he’s missing, his courage and dedication are never forgotten.
