“Design challenges” is a very polite way of saying the bus and payload providers are in continual disagreement about who is the leader. A lot of these kinds of conversations sound like this: “The bus is the problem!” “No, the payload is the problem!” We’ve all seen this movie before. “Design challenges” are also the main driver of cost growth and schedule slips. It’s a 60+ year old problem. Wouldn’t it be nice if the bus and payload could get along? Well, they can’t. That’s why the payload needs to be the leader - unconstrained throughout development to reach it’s zenith of potential as fast as possible - and the bus must instantly respond to payload evolution. Leader & follower. The bus must follow. #ThisIsTheWay We also need to be designing and building inside the launch cadence and inside the regulatory timelines and inside the supply chain lead timelines. This is the forcing function for the invisible hand of the market to mature and truly unlock the value and potential of a new space economy. This speed might also be needed to preserve and improve our way of life. That’s why we’re using AI assisted, autonomous digital engineering to digitally design, build and test payload tailored, custom satellite buses using multi-anchored, full provenance, DODi 5000.97 compliant digital models & twins. Our Industry 4.0 digital design and production system, MERCURY, doesn’t just eliminate “design challenges” - it allows humans to quickly explore every design option available in the mission closing trade-space. FAST Thousands and thousands of times faster than mere mortals can produce even one mission closing design. Mortals are human, MERCURY is a machine. MERCURY can produce thousands of mission closing LEO ESPA Conceptual and SRR payload tailored bus designs - using COTS, TRL9 subsystems - in the time it took you to read this. If you’re a slow reader it did it way, way faster. Don’t believe us? Do you have a LEO ESPA payload & mission? Let’s talk, and if we can close your mission, understand your timeline, payload, mission and launch criteria, we’ll give you a FREE, physics anchored Preliminary Design in 10 days, based on your priorities: lead time, subsystem TRL maturity, mass, mean power, cost - whatever. Oh, we’ll also give you the unlocked digital models. Locked models are so cliche. Jump into the time machine and fast forward your payload capability and flight time by hitting us up at www.proteus-space.com Let’s build! MERCURY will make you a believer that #TheFutureIsFaster P.S. Don’t worry MEO, GEO & Cis-lunar - we’re coming for you too. ⚡ Proteus Space CEO and Cofounder David Kervin was excited to present MERCURY, our game-changing AI-assisted satellite design and production system, at the SpaceWERX Space Systems Command Futures Pervasive Technology Expo 2024 yesterday! David had attendees nodding their heads when he said: "Where a rapidly evolving payload is concerned - the only thing 'standard' about a 'standard bus' is there will be lots pain, cost and time to modify that bus for a payload it was never specifically designed to fly." That pain is ubiquitous - felt globally today by government and commercial customers alike who want and need to get their payloads to space - faster - cheaper - easier. David went on to explain how Proteus Space is revolutionizing satellite design and AI&T with their AI-assisted, physics anchored, Digital Design & Rapid Satellite Prototyping system MERCURY. MERCURY digitally engineers, high fidelity models and digitally twins, payload tailored satellites (bus and payload integrated designs), generating thousands of mission closing designs at the same time, thousands of times faster than humans, with radical improvements in testing, manufacturability, speed and quality, eliminating mistakes and rework in AI&T. David finished his presentation by describing a MERCURY enabled future, where similar to how AI sequenced the human genome, MERCURY could model every satellite in space, planned to be in space or thought about sending to space. A world where human engineers use their massive talents to invest in innovation in payloads and subsystems, not slowly moving around trade-spaces hoping bus designs close. With multiple software patents pending, MERCURY is the world's first Autonomous Physics Anchored Digital Engineering System and Proteus is designing, building and is manifested to fly the worlds first AI designed ESPA class satellite in Oct of 2025. MERCURY and Proteus are ushering in a completely new era of innovation, empowering payload owners to change their SWaPs and minds without regret, instantly, at any stage of the design lifecycle. A special thanks to SpaceWERX & Space Systems Command for continuing to innovate and push for new capabilities that matter - with a sense of urgency! #FightTonight #AccelerateChangeOrLose #TheFutureIsFaster #industry40 #DigitalEngineering #DigitalTwin #Satellites #SpaceTech #AerospaceInnovation #DigitalModeling #SpaceIndustry #SatelliteDesign #VirtualPrototyping #SimulationTechnology #NewSpaceEra #SatelliteSimulation #DigitalTransformation #SpaceInnovation #SmartSatellites #DigitalSatellites #FutureOfSpace #SatelliteEngineering https://lnkd.in/gm38jhES
