Chapter discussions. Professional development. Ideas for the future. We had a great time at #PRSAICON & Leadership Assembly, where we heard from keynote speakers, participated in various breakout sessions, and connected with other chapters. Special shoutout to our Programming Chair, Alyson Huth, for representing us! 🌟

On Sunday, October 6, 2024, the Pittsburgh PR community lost two legends: Bob Butter and Bob O'Gara, both members of the PRSA Hall of Fame. Both men were incredible mentors, and our members were fortunate to have known and learned from them. Their legacies will continue to inspire our community for years to come. We are devastated by their loss. Bob O'Gara, for whom our annual Bob O'Gara Scholarship is named, was a cherished advisor to PRSA Pittsburgh and a member of the PRSA College of Fellows. A retired Professor of Advertising & Marketing Communications at Point Park University and former Manager of Communications Services at Koppers Company, Bob was a pillar of education and mentorship. His influence on Pittsburgh’s PR community is immeasurable, having helped countless aspiring professionals grow into accomplished practitioners. Bob Butter was one of the region's most respected public relations and crisis communications professionals, having founded his own firm, Veritas Communications Advisors, in 2004. Throughout his career, he provided expert counsel to major corporations, hospitals, universities, and foundations on leadership communications, special situations, and crisis communications. In addition to his work, Bob shared his knowledge as a business executive in residence at the University of Pittsburgh.
