Setting up event lighting for Raves involves creating an immersive, high-energy environment that complements the beat-heavy music and intense atmosphere. Rave lighting setups often include a mix of moving lights, strobes, lasers, and LED walls to create dynamic visuals that pulse and change with the music. Laser beams cutting through haze or fog enhance the three-dimensional effect, giving the crowd a feeling of being enveloped in light. Programmable LEDs allow for custom color schemes that sync with the DJ’s set, building anticipation during drops and enhancing the energy during climactic moments. Additionally, UV lights and glow-in-the-dark effects are often used to make fluorescent decorations and outfits pop, amplifying the sensory experience. Thoughtful placement of lights around the stage, ceiling, and sides of the venue ensures that the entire space is transformed, providing a visually captivating experience that keeps attendees engaged and energized all night. This years BOO 2024 at WAMU was no exception!! Representing a diverse array of workers in the service sectors, SEIU is one of the largest labor unions in the United States. The Service Employees International Union focuses on issues such as fair wages, healthcare access, and job security. SEIU's commitment to social justice extends beyond the workplace, encompassing broader initiatives aimed at advancing economic and racial equality. These are all values that R90 Lighting stands behind and so when our friends at Elliott Bay Productions asked us to illuminate the SEIU 775 conference at the Spokane Convention Center, we leapt at the opportunity! Corporate lighting Swiss army knife, Rachid Schultz wore many hats this time around, which is nothing unusual as he prefers a hands on approach to ensure everything meets his rigid standards. Rachid was the project manager, lighting designer, and lighting programmer, overseeing the project every step of the way. Executing Rachid's design was his long-running master electrician Levi Plumb , who once again demonstrated why he is one of the region's best in his craft. Rounding out the team was Maryalice Weed who acted as systems tech and ensured the rig functioned meticulously. The design itself called for a diverse range of fixtures from our extensive inventory: 24x CHAUVET Professional Ovation Cyc1 FC 14x ELATION Lighting Artiste Picasso 32x Elation Colour Chorus 48 5x Elation Cuepix Panel 21x Elation Fuze Wash 500 12x Elation Fuze Wash FR 28x Elation KL Panel 6x GLP German Light Products X4 Bar 20 6x ROBE Lighting s.r.o. LEDBeam 150 RGBW All of which were programmed on and controlled by Rachid on a MA Lighting International GmbH grandMA3 Light using Obsidian Control Systems EN12 sACN Nodes. Production rigging was provided with exactitude by Precision Productions Inc. Audio Services were provided by Point Source Audio. Video and cameras were provided by DC Productions. These folks know their stuff and we can't recommend them enough. Fabulous group of people to work with, We'd like to once again thank Elliott Bay Productions for having us out on this! We think it turned out stellar! #lightingdesign #corporatelighting #liveevents

Lighting design for an acoustic concert plays a crucial role in enhancing the mood and ambiance while complementing the intimate nature of the music. Since acoustic performances often focus on subtlety and emotion, the lighting should be soft, using warm tones and gentle transitions to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Last night we had the pleasure of lighting Antwane Tyler at the Westland Distillery. A rising new country artists from Snohomish WA. Working a concert can be a fun experience, filled with energy and excitement. As part of the crew, you get a behind-the-scenes look at how a live event comes together. The fast-paced environment keeps you on your toes, and the sense of camaraderie among the team adds to the fun. Plus, there's nothing quite like being surrounded by live music and a cheering audience. Seeing the happiness on people's faces as they enjoy the show makes all the hard work worthwhile. R90 Lighting would like to thank our Bumbershoot 2024 Lighting Crew for all their hard work. Davis Alexander, Derek Zanto, Megan Moelhman, Brandon Chapman, Levi Plumb, Sawyer Moe, MaryAlice Weed and Eugene Cognoman. We would also like to thank the Bumbershoot Team for allowing us to take part in another great year at the Fisher and Fountain Stages. The Decemberists opted to grant us the privilege of providing lighting support for their 2024 concert tour and we jumped at the opportunity! Starting in Kingston, NY, the tour took them on a journey through the Eastern and Central markets of the US, captivating audiences everywhere. Led by the magnetic Colin Meloy, the band delivered electrifying performances, mixing their classic hits with new tracks that included their first new song in six years, "Burial Ground." The production and lighting design for this tour was crafted by the ever talented Zach Sternberg and operated by Kat Rodgers, the latter having the best Instagram handle on this tour (@katfeces). The design called for a well rounded compliment of lighting fixtures including (16) ADJ Lighting Encore LP7IP, (6) CHAUVET Professional Color Strike M, (12) CHAUVET Professional Ovation Cyc 1 FC, (6) ELATION Lighting Artiste Picasso, (3) ELATION Lighting KL Panel, (20) ROBE Lighting s.r.o. Robin LEDBeam 150 RGBW, and (3) Hazebase The Fab. The rig was programmed and operated on a grandMA3 Full with a grandMA3 Light as backup. Our very own Jory Bourgette was along for the ride as the R90 Lighting tech for the tour and Rachid Schultz was the R90 Lighting account rep. The Decemberists' artist management: Jason Colton and Eric Mayers. It was truly a joy to get to work with these great folks. After a brief intermission, R90 Lighting will be back out as lighting support for The Decemberists later this summer for part 2 of their A Peaceable Kingdom Tour 2024 which kicks off July 12 in Bend, OR and covers the west coast of the United States.
