🔍 Exploring the History of Black Tech Businesses 🔍  The journey of Black-owned tech businesses is a story of resilience, innovation, and groundbreaking achievements. Today, we celebrate the rich history and contributions of Black entrepreneurs in the tech industry:    📜 1950s: Pioneers like Katherine Johnson began to break barriers, laying the groundwork for future Black tech entrepreneurs. Katherine Johnson’s calculations were critical to NASA’s success of the first U.S. crewed spaceships.     💡 1970s-1980s: The rise of computing and tech saw trailblazers like Clarence “Skip” Ellis introduce revolutionary technologies, setting new standards and opening doors for future generations. Clarence developed the first office system, Office Talk, that pioneered applications like Teams and Google Docs.    🚀 1990s-Present: The digital era has witnessed a surge in Black-owned tech businesses, from startups to industry leaders like Calendly. These companies are not only innovating in technology but also advocating for diversity and inclusion in the industry.    🌟 Today: Black tech entrepreneurs continue to shape the future with groundbreaking innovations in AI, cybersecurity, software development, and more. They are building companies that challenge norms and drive progress.    The history of Black tech businesses is not just a narrative of challenges overcome but a testament to the incredible impact of diversity and inclusion in technology. 🐾 Happy International Cat Day from Raye IT Consulting! 🐾 Today, we're celebrating our feline friends who bring joy and companionship to our lives. Meet the adorable cats of our team members! 🐱💼 📸 Heath's cat, Gandalf, is thriving from the little boy Heath first met! He has white paws, but one grey toe, which is what inspired his name. His litter was abandoned by their mother when they were just a few days old. You can see Gandalf getting bottle fed at 4 weeks old by Heath and a picture of the handsome fella Gandalf is now!  📸 Ronalds’s cats, Cheesecake and Pika! Cheesecake is a 1-year-old snowshoe. Cheesecake is a little scientist, specifically an expert in the second law of thermodynamics. He loves watching ice melt. Pika is a 11-year-old American short hair. Learn more about Eric here!   What inspired me to join the team here was the opportunity to be part of a team trusted by a client to be the first contractor ever to provide support for them in multiple IT management functional areas. A new team with a clean slate to work with was pretty exciting. I think my biggest contribution to the team is recognizing opportunities for cross-team integration, collaboration, and support and then guiding and assisting with exploiting the opportunities for improved client success. I have a wide range of experience to call on for insight and capabilities. In three words, my best friend would describe me as committed, patient, and helpful. If I had a superpower, it would be to fly so I can avoid traffic, clean the house gutters without wrestling with a ladder, and enjoy many picturesque landscapes. My perfect weekend would include dancing with my wife, backpacking with my son, and harvesting lots of veggies from my garden.
