"Like studying physics without friction, business without risk is simple enough, but that’s not how the world works." I went with a longer format this time, to reflect on increasing risks for manufacturers today, key warning signs, and what to do about them.

Fact: Inventory hides (minimizes) manufacturing & supply problems. Fact: The pandemic caused a lot of problems. Fact: Inventory sucks up cash. Three facts & One Opinion: "Higher for Longer" interest rates will demand more free cash. I don't have a crystal ball, and I don't know if a recession is looming, but I do think more businesses will face liquidity challenges in the months ahead. The time to adjust course is now.
