A recent analysis by Info-Link and Soundings Trade Only found that an increasing percent of first-time boat owners are parting ways with their boat. On average, roughly 1 in 5 boaters, or 20%, will sell their boat within four years. But recently, that number has ticked up to 23-24% ‼️ ‼️ Why is this happening and what can the boat industry do about it? RBFF’s Stephanie Vatalaro shares she thinks the problem has to do with after the person buys the boat–there’s not enough “to support their journey in boating” she says. Learn more about this complex challenge and how RBFF, Marine Retailers Association of the Americas (MRAA) and others are working to tackle it in this article from Soundings Trade Only. https://lnkd.in/e8C6vi5e

RBFF recently attended the #BassmasterClassic. 🎣 We love attending events like this, because the convergence of different people across the fishing and boating community breeds ideas for partnership, and ideas for getting more people out on the water!
Senior Executive in fishing & boating industry | 32-yr State Conservation Leader in wildlife, water and environment | Passionate about getting more people on the water!
It’s tough duty representing the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation at #BassmasterClassic, but I’m up to the challenge! Seriously, it was a productive week teaming up with my American Sportfishing Association mates as we work with the #fishing and #boating industry to get more people enjoying life on the water. Many thanks to Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for hosting a very informative #PartnerWithAPayer where we watched rods being built at Temple Fork Outfitters and striped bass being spawned at Possum Kingdom State Fish Hatchery. The fishing community is strong and thriving, and I love getting to work on making it even more so in the future… oh, and stocking up on the latest tackle!

Happy one year anniversary to Kayla Hornbrook! Kayla has jumped in feet first at RBFF, and likely, many of you know it! She overhauled the First Catch Centers Program making it easier for state agencies to understand and adopt the program, refined the Boat Registration Reactivation Program for efficiency, and was a key player at the State Marketing Workshop, helping with logistics and leading the AI and Automation session. Her creativity and systems automations expertise stands out across the board and we are so glad she is part of the team! Here’s to many more anniversaries! 🎉 #EmployeeMilestone #Leadership #WorkAnniversary

Oftentimes local and accessible fishing locations are critical to ‘hooking’ newcomers to the sport. Which is what led the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division to create “Atlanta’s Top Fishing Holes” guide, a guide that focuses on promoting events and community fishing spots, where youth and families could have fun learning to fish together. Find out how GDNR improved community engagement and helped shift perspectives about outdoor recreation possibilities in the metro Atlanta area in this new marketing case study: https://bit.ly/3DvFGDy
