We’re excited to highlight one of our key development partners at The Plaza — Chesapeake Contracting Group — who will be leading the entrance and façade renovations, along with additional upgrades aimed at attracting new tenants. Since their founding in 1979, CCG has been a trailblazer in transforming construction safety. Their safety approach to retail renovations includes clear wayfinding and barriers, maintaining a clean job site, and minimizing disruptions. With deep roots in Baltimore County, Chesapeake’s long-standing commitment to enhancing the area’s appeal to new tenants and shoppers is reinforced through this project, all while preserving its historic presence. We look forward to continuing this partnership as we reimagine The Plaza!

It’s inspiring to work with so many fantastic people in our community that are making a real difference in Northwest Baltimore. We had a great time working with the Baltimore Chesed League, Kelemer Brothers Replacement Windows and Larry Schugam and the CHAI Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc. team to help to clean and beautify our neighborhood around Reisterstown Road Plaza — and a special thank you to Brett Weil of WesBanco for including us in this opportunity.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the most desirable strip malls for investors often feature a grocery store as a key anchor tenant. For years, Giant Food at The Plaza has been just that. The WSJ also highlighted that landlords are boosting their tenant mix with small retailers and independent businesses. The milestone of opening our 250th store in DTLR's 42-year history is a testament to our commitment to sneaker culture and the communities we serve. Our new NextGen store concept reflects not only our evolution but also our dedication to creating hubs that connect and uplift the neighborhoods around them. Growing up just a few miles from this location and starting my career selling shoes at Reisterstown Road Plaza, this opening is especially meaningful to me. We are proud to call Baltimore home and look forward to engaging in meaningful community outreach in and around this vibrant area.

Great day DTLR, Inc.’s grand opening with Mayor Scott and kids from the community who achieved perfect attendance and received a shopping spree! Yanky Schorr from Tide Realty Capital spoke with the media about the revitalization of the plaza and welcoming this national brand to the community. This is an exciting first phase of the types of new brands that we are bringing to the City!

Cupid’s arrow is not only targeting hearts but also wallets this Valentine’s Day. The National Retail Federation projects Americans will spend a record-breaking $27.5 billion in 2025, surpassing last year’s $25.8 billion.
