For our July employee spotlight, we are featuring one of our engineers, Laura C. We interviewed Laura on her background and her time thus far at Resource Energy (RES). Thank you for all that you do on this side of the company, you're a rockstar! "My name is Laura Cooper and I currently reside in Charlottesville, VA. I graduated from Old Dominion University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I have way too many hobbies outside of work to include archery, gardening, foraging, concerts, and hosting dinner parties. I’m also passionate about traveling and taking trips with my three kiddos to experience new things. I knew I wanted to be a part of the energy sector when I went back to college for engineering. I spent six years with the Army Corps of Engineers implementing sustainable design for federal buildings. The Army Corps greatly expanded my knowledge of building systems, but I had very little opportunity to focus on what I really wanted: the energy field. I’ve been so fortunate to work at RES for the past (almost) year bringing my knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems to support the analysis of a broad range of energy usage. It has been such a pleasure to get to know everyone and I look forward to making more RES friends in the future!" #employeespotlight #energyengineering

For our June employee spotlight, we are featuring Bethany Repp, one of our outstanding Energy Analysts! Bethany has some fun hobbies and shared her experience so far at Resource Energy: "My name is Bethany Repp and I am from northwest Ohio, where I planted my roots and still reside with my husband and youngest daughter. I graduated from Bluffton University earning a degree in organizational management with a focus in accounting and finance. Outside of my work life, I don't have much "spare" time, but when there is I enjoy attending sporting events, any type of festival (especially live music), as well as spending time with my family! Most days I am running between practices and watching our daughter play softball, volleyball, or basketball games which I absolutely love!   Prior to working in the energy industry, I spent 14 years in higher education. Part of that role was providing innovative, cost-effective solutions for businesses and industries under the direction of experienced faculty and students. This ultimately led to my interest in utility billing and analysis within the energy industry, which I have been doing for the past seven years. I had the honor of joining the RES team as an Energy Analyst in the tenant utility billing department in December 2022. I enjoy that this role allows me to expand my knowledge in the commercial energy industry, as my previous experience was mainly residential and industrial. The most rewarding part of working at RES has been the amazing support and encouragement from all levels of the organization." Thanks Bethany for all that you do! #tenantbilling #energymanagement

For our May employee spotlight, we're featuring Karen Farmer, one of our outstanding Senior Energy Analysts. We interviewed Karen on her time at Resource Energy thus far. Thanks for all that you do, Karen! "My name is Karen Farmer and I am from southwest Ohio. I graduated from Thomas More College where I studied Business Administration with a focus in finance. Outside of work I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family. I also started golfing a few years ago thinking that it would help me to relax and unwind. While I enjoy my time on the course, learning to golf has proved to be much more challenging than I originally anticipated. I have over 25 years of industry experience primarily in utility billing and usage analysis. From the moment I learned about Resource Energy, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the team. Energy management is so important, not just from a cost standpoint but also from an environmental perspective. I was lucky enough to be hired two years ago and I am now a Senior Energy Analyst. In this role, I primarily work with clients to provide tenant utility billing services and cost analysis. I enjoy working at RES because of the wonderful people that I get to work with every day!"
