For our May employee spotlight, we're featuring Karen Farmer, one of our outstanding Senior Energy Analysts. We interviewed Karen on her time at Resource Energy thus far. Thanks for all that you do, Karen! "My name is Karen Farmer and I am from southwest Ohio. I graduated from Thomas More College where I studied Business Administration with a focus in finance. Outside of work I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with my family. I also started golfing a few years ago thinking that it would help me to relax and unwind. While I enjoy my time on the course, learning to golf has proved to be much more challenging than I originally anticipated. I have over 25 years of industry experience primarily in utility billing and usage analysis. From the moment I learned about Resource Energy, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the team. Energy management is so important, not just from a cost standpoint but also from an environmental perspective. I was lucky enough to be hired two years ago and I am now a Senior Energy Analyst. In this role, I primarily work with clients to provide tenant utility billing services and cost analysis. I enjoy working at RES because of the wonderful people that I get to work with every day!"

I recently received the following feedback from a CEO in the Utilities space when presenting a shortlist for the C Suite level position that we were working on: “I’ve got to say Holly, that’s the first time in a number of years that I’ve come into this sort of conversation and haven’t raised my eyebrows when it comes to candidates that have been presented to me. You’ve done an outstanding job and it’s clear that you’ve worked really hard on this, so thank you.” Are you receiving a level of service from your search partner that delivers the right calibre of talent, providing you with the solution to your challenges? If not, it might be time for us to have a conversation....there's a link to my diary in the comments section to book in some time. #testimonial #executivesearch #utilitiessearch #utilities #water #gas #energy #leadershiphires #utilitiesleadershiphires

In the words of Bob Dylan "For the times they are a-changin'"... The #energy⚡️industry faces an uphill 🏔️ battle. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's report says it all, "The Era of Flat Power Demand is Over." In that report FERC predicts the nationwide electricity demand to grow 4.7% over the next five years, which is up ⬆️ from the 2.7% predicted last year. In my opinion this is still a conservative estimate but very large regardless. While there are many driving factors for this load growth like #datacenters 🏢, #industrialdevelopment 🏭, #hydrogenproduction, and #electrification 🔌, the fact still remains that we will need as much cooperation as possible between all areas of the #energyindustry. As I look back on this year, I am confident that the industry has what it takes to provide our future generations with the vital energy they need. I want to thank the #utilities and #engineeringfirms I collaborated with this year and I look forward to a strong 💪 2024. Florida Power & Light, TECO Energy, American Electric Power, Southern Company, Georgia Power Company, Alabama Power Company, Mississippi Power, Arizona Public Service - APS, Salt River Project, Avista, Bonneville Power Administration, Atlantic City Electric, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, CenterPoint Energy, Tucson Electric Power, Xcel Energy, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Portland General Electric, Puget Sound Energy, NorthWestern Energy, National Grid, LG&E and KU Energy LLC, FirstEnergy, Evergy, Exelon, Duke Energy Corporation, ComEd, Dominion Energy, Delmarva Power, OGE Energy Corp., Oncor Electric Delivery, Southern California Edison (SCE), Burns & McDonnell, POWER Engineers, Black & Veatch and the many others I may have missed!
