  • The former Kosmos cinema in Zhytomyr became the focal point of discussion during the first Urban Forum, organized as a two-day hackathon. Experts from Ukraine, Estonia, and the Netherlands came together to explore new solutions for the future of the cinema building and the surrounding area. Urban forums play a key role in engaging communities in the transformation of urban spaces. Each forum provides a platform for local residents, professionals, and city authorities to collaboratively shape the vision for their cities. These events integrate best international practices while addressing local needs. Ro3kvit systematically promotes participatory approaches in Ukraine, recognizing that community engagement is a fundamental principle of urban development — one that ensures sustainable and livable spaces. The Kosmos cinema and its adjacent territory require reorganization and rethinking. Its revitalization is only possible with the active involvement of the community — because it is the residents who should decide the future of this place. The cinema has the potential to become a hub for cultural and social initiatives, contributing to the city's and community’s development. 📌 Swipe through the carousel for more details and share the story about Kosmos 🤍 The urban forums are organized by the Estonian Association of Architects and the Ro3kvit Urban Coalition for Ukraine, in collaboration with the city of Zhytomyr. The forums are funded by the European Union as part of the international cultural project "UREHERIT: Architects for Ukraine's Heritage". UREHERIT #UREHERIT #UrbanForum #KosmosCinema #Zhytomyr

  • Ro3kvit, in partnership with Ukraine Urban Lab UN-Habitat, held a workshop in Kyiv as part of the training program "Building Capacity for Inclusive and Sustainable Urban Recovery in Ukraine." Over three intensive days, participants from eight partner communities delved into evidence-based planning and worked on integrating principles of resilience, sustainability, and circularity into their pilot projects. The sessions focused on key aspects such as: 🔹 Using evidence-based planning to justify decisions and address pressing community challenges. 🔹 Applying a cyclical planning approach: from problem analysis and data collection to solution development, implementation, and monitoring results. Participants not only gained valuable knowledge but also actively exchanged experiences, presented successful practices from their communities, and identified opportunities for future collaboration. The networking atmosphere became a catalyst for generating new ideas and fostering joint actions. Ro3kvit continues to support communities in creating sustainable and inclusive urban environments! 🌱 UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme) #Ro3kvit #SustainableUrbanDevelopment #UkraineUrbanLab #UNHabitat #UrbanRecovery #SustainableFuture

  • The Ro3kvit team recently held a three-day strategic session as part of the grant project "Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity." These days were dedicated to discussions, planning, and the joint exploration of new ideas. During the session, we engaged with representatives from our partner organizations, including Teple Misto , METALAB, and Promprylad, to discuss: ✅ How to improve our processes and enhance efficiency. ✅ New opportunities for the development and support of cities and communities. ✅ Collaborative projects and partnerships to bring ambitious ideas to life. The venue added a special dynamic to our session – we worked in Pole, one of MetaLab’s projects. This space provided not only a productive environment but also a chance to better understand innovative approaches to creating environments that foster dialogue and collaboration. Each meeting brought valuable ideas and solutions that will help us move forward. We extend our gratitude to all participants for their engaging discussions, support, and willingness to work together. There is still much to be done, but we are confident that together, we can achieve great results! This event product was produced by Ro3kvit with ISAR Ednannia support within the USAID Ukraine Civil Society Sectoral Support Activity. #Ro3kvit #Collaboration #Development #Partnership
