aiming to simplify complex and inequitable systems to ensure that every American has access to stable, healthy housing.

About us

In 2010, Quicken Loans (now Rocket Mortgage) moved its headquarters and 3,600 team members from suburban Detroit to the heart of downtown. Since then, Rocket Companies has grown to include more than 25,000 team members in downtown Detroit, as well as offices in Cleveland, Charlotte, and Phoenix. As our numbers have grown, so has our commitment to doing well by doing good. The Rocket Community Fund was created to harness the incredible power of our organization and find innovative ways to make an impact in each of our home communities. Through our investments, we believe we can create value not only for our business but for everyone. Our mission is to simplify complex and inequitable systems to ensure that every American has access to stable, healthy housing.

  • We believe every American deserves prosperity. We launched the Rocket Wealth Accelerator program back in 2022 together with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) to address the racial wealth gap by breaking down systemic barriers to financial success. Through comprehensive financial coaching and support - including a savings match - the Rocket Wealth Accelerator has already supported over 31,000 residents like Romell Johnson. In this video, Romell talks about the transformative power of this program, which he hopes will help him one day achieve the dream of homeownership. (We are especially grateful to Rob Lockett, MBA, CSM for his leadership throughout this initiative - both as our former Team Leader of National Housing Stability and as the current Executive Director of LISC Detroit!) • Our 2024 Neighbor to Neighbor canvassing efforts in #Detroit revealed that the overwhelming majority of Detroiters surveyed want to achieve the dream of homeownership. Part of how we're helping to fulfill that dream to help everyone home is through Neighbor to Neighbor, which serves as the foundation for many of our housing stability programs in Detroit - and beyond. #OwnTheDream Read the full report and learn more: https://bit.ly/41VsG2h

  • "I'm still telling them don't pinch me. Because if it is a dream I don't want to wake up." - Danielle Welcome We’re proud to share the story of our home swap pilot program, a collaboration between the Rocket Community Fund, City of Detroit, and other partners. This program addresses critical home repair challenges by offering families in unsafe homes the opportunity to "swap" for renovated Detroit Land Bank Authority homes—complete with custom furnishings from Humble Design. So far, we’ve helped three families become homeowners of fully renovated and furnished homes. The Welcome Family is one of them. This pilot program would not be possible without the work of Gwen Gell and our housing stability team, led by Elizabeth Sorce. And it fully embodies our shared vision with Rocket to help everyone home and own the dream. Because everyone deserves a safe place to call their own. Learn More: https://bit.ly/41ZaRPD

  • We're celebrating #313Day today... and every single day. As we celebrate Detroit, we're reflecting on the transformative impact of 846,566 volunteer hours that Rocket team members have dedicated to Detroit since 2010. That's the equivalent of 96 years of continuous service to the city we call home, supporting local nonprofits dedicated to food security, housing stability, education, conservation and so much more. Behind each hour is a team member who believes in Detroit's potential and is actively building its future. Today, we honor their commitment and recommit ourselves to the city we love.

  • Yesterday we had the opportunity to celebrate over 20 Detroit families who achieved their dreams of homeownership through our Make It Home program! The Make It Home program continues to create pathways to homeownership for Detroit residents who might otherwise face eviction due to landlord tax foreclosure. Since 2017, we've helped more than 1,600 families secure deeds to their homes, providing not just housing stability but the foundation for generational wealth-building. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our incredible partners at United Community Housing Coalition and City of Detroit, who work alongside us to identify families at risk and assist them in navigating this important transition. And a very special thank you to Gwen Gell, Senior Program Manager on our Housing Stability team, who exemplifies our mission through her commitment to helping Detroit families own the dream. • Our team members are passionate community advocates. But then there are those who go above and beyond, consistently showing up and inspiring others through their extraordinary volunteering and giving efforts. These are our Community Champions. We held an event to recognize the contributions of the 344 Rocket team members nominated by their peers this year for their service to our community. It was our way of expressing gratitude for the people who are powered by purpose, helping us strengthen the communities we call home. • Neighbor to Neighbor is our canvassing program that provides residents at risk of property tax foreclosure with critical housing information and resources. It's also a way for us to collect data that better informs our housing strategy. In 2024, we brought our flagship program to Milwaukee. Our findings will help us better support residents in the communities we serve. Thank you to United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County and INPOWER for their support on this important effort. • Homeownership is still a central part of the American Dream. That's why we're especially proud of our Make It Home program - since 2017 we've helped over 1,600 Detroit families become homeowners through this innovative initiative. Because it's about so much more than just owning a house. It's about family, legacy, and building a generational wealth. Together, we're helping everyone home. #OwnTheDream Learn More: https://bit.ly/3CDMoGF
