Saltchuk Marine’s fleet renewal with SCHOTTEL | SCHOTTEL has been awarded an order to supply azimuthing thrusters for four new escort tugs for Seattle-based Saltchuk Marine. The contractual partner is Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. in Panama City, USA. “The maritime industry is experiencing a renaissance in vessel innovation,” says Jason Childs, Saltchuk Marine’s CEO. “SCHOTTEL is leading the way with propulsion systems that enhance safety and performance in alignment with our vision for the next generation of tugs.” The high-performance escort tugs of the RApport 2600 design by Canadian naval architect Robert Allan Ltd. will each be equipped with two azimuthing SCHOTTEL RudderPropellers of the type SRP 510 each.
