Twice yearly, the Alliance hosts a Members' Meeting. This year's Meeting will be hosted by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in Palo Alto, California, on October 16-17, 2024. We will convene the leading minds in science philanthropy to explore innovative approaches to resilience and adaptation. We will delve into cutting-edge research, discuss strategic investments, and forge collaborations that will empower us to meet the environmental and societal challenges ahead. These annotations provide critical insights for other scientists to accelerate collaboration in understanding cell biology in health and disease. The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is working tirelessly to help find solutions to our climate crisis by helping indigenous peoples preserve and manage their lands. Recent land rights victories for Indigenous groups in Southwest Papua, Indonesia, showcase the strength of grassroots movements and the importance of legal recognition for Indigenous communities in preserving their lands and culture. Together with our partners at the Climate and Land Use Alliance and other donors, we are supporting a philanthropic initiative called Forests, People, Climate that partners with funders and civil society organizations to end and reverse deforestation in tropical forests.
