Congratulations to Suzette Gordon on her first year as President and CEO of #SCOFamilyofServices!

We're celebrating the wonderful achievements of several youth in SCO's Foster Care Forward Journey program who've graduated from college in 2024. Congratulations to all! Carlos graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television in three and a half years. Carlos is a gifted artist who would like to become an animator. Kervin and Marvin graduated from York College of the City University of New York. Kervin graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Marvin with a degree in Economics. Marvin and Kervin are also stellar athletes, both having played on the school's soccer team. Lamar graduated with his Masters in Social Work from Binghamton University. Lamar is currently working full time and plans to remain in Binghamton. He hopes to be taking his license exam to be a licensed social worker.

Congratulations to Alisson, East Brooklyn Community High School’s 2024 Valedictorian! Alisson has been a phenomenal student since arriving at East Brooklyn Community High School (EBCHS) in the fall of 2023. EBCHS is a small transfer high school that combines quality academics with intensive support services to promote academic success. “The teachers really care. They really want you to learn the material and they create a positive environment that made me want to go to school,” Alisson said. “East Brooklyn also makes mental health a priority. Mr. Skeeter is deeply committed to community enrichment and progressive education and is a Board Member of Compass Charter School.
