We're thrilled to announce that SEAM Group has been selected as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor for a groundbreaking fleet electrification project in Fresno, California! Partnering with Nuvve Holding Corp. and Imperial Electric Service, we're proud to be part of this initiative that's paving the way for a more sustainable future. Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission (Fresno EOC) is taking a significant step towards reducing its carbon footprint by transitioning its fleet to 50 electric Class-A shuttles over five years. This project will be supported by a 2.5-megawatt on-site solar generation and battery storage system, making Fresno EOC less reliant on the grid. SEAM Group engineers and renewable energy specialists will leverage their experience across the entire project lifecycle, ensuring a smooth transition for Fresno EOC. Here's how we'll contribute: – Strategic advisory support – Design and procurement of electric vehicle supply equipment and solar battery storage systems – Thorough site assessment and planning – Construction management This project sets a new standard for sustainable transportation solutions by minimizing reliance on the grid during peak demand hours. "I applaud the Fresno EOC team for their vision of implementing on-site generation, battery storage, interconnection to the grid, and EV charging on a single site. It is encouraging to see lessons learned from years of design and installation applied to develop a first-class location," remarked Scott Moretz, PMP, SEAM Group COO. While performing an infrared inspection at a new Class A office building, a SEAM Group technician identified, documented, and notified the client of a poor connection in the switchgear. The client contacted the manufacturer, and plans were made to address the issue within days. Unfortunately, the issue escalated quickly, and the switchgear caught on fire, causing a catastrophic failure of the building's electrical system. Building tenants had to stay out of their new offices for days while repairs were performed. Takeaways: - Working with an IR inspection partner that leverages technology to document and escalate issues matters. With ViewPoint®, our customers see what we see through visual inspection photos and thermal images. We rank issues based on criticality to help with prioritization and risk mitigation. - Reducing unplanned downtime and impact on end customers requires a risk-based approach to corrective maintenance. - While all electrical issues should be addressed quickly, corrective action on more critical assets like switchgear should always be prioritized. Would you like to learn more about our infrared thermography and switchgear maintenance solutions? Let us help you create safer, more reliable environments for your people and customers. #infraredthermography #infraredscan #switchgear #electricalmaintenance #electricalsafety
