Exciting progress on SEAMLESS Project DUC2 in Antwerp! The SEAMLESS Project partners are gathering in Antwerp, hosted by Port of Antwerp-Bruges and ZULU Associates, to push forward the demonstration of DUC2, a major step toward achieving automated #waterborne seaport hinterland transport. During the meeting, the demonstration scenario was finalized, and #SEAMLESS innovations to be showcased were identified. Valuable insights from external stakeholders like De Vlaamse Waterweg nv, North Sea Port, Port of Lille, and Danser Group will be integrated into DUC2's development. Key decisions have been made, next steps defined, and we're ready to move forward as we prepare for the General Assembly in Valencia. We're thrilled to announce that our latest research on risk mitigation for autonomous inland vessels is being presented at IFAC CAMS 2024, where global experts in marine systems, robotics, and vehicles come together. Our paper "A POMDP model-based online risk mitigation method for autonomous inland vessels" introduces a cutting-edge method based on a Partially Observable Markov Decision Process (POMDP) for real-time risk mitigation in autonomous surface vessels (ASVs). As ASVs become increasingly vital in the maritime industry, addressing risks from internal and external factors like traffic, weather, and faults is crucial.
