Yesterday was a big day!! After seven years of development, Phase I of UC Davis' Aggie Square is nearing completion and we got a first peek inside.👏👏👏 Phase 1A includes more than 767,000-square-feet of research labs, classrooms, housing and public spaces for researchers and students, industry partners, entrepreneurs and the community to accelerate innovation and bolster quality of life in the region. Even more impressive than the development itself was the project's projected economic impact— In addition to announcing the university's current annual impact of $13.18 billion statewide with $9.57 billion directly benefitting the Greater Sacramento region, Chancellor Gary S. May noted: “Once [Aggie Square] is up and running, it will support 3,200 jobs annually and about $500 million in annual regional economic impact in the Sacramento region." We also heard key updates from local leaders who have been instrumental in supporting this project. Thank you: Congresswoman Doris Matsui, Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty, Davis Mayor Bapu Vaitla, Troels Adrian and Claire Drummond More on Aggie Square's impact: https://lnkd.in/exFi5u-a #AggieSquare
