"What a worthwhile three days in Bristol with the Simpleview EMEA network of DMOs and exploring #filmtourism from a #communitytourism perspective! A great opportunity to share experiences from a community perspective and our experience with #PressPause as a mechanism to help communities agree their stance on various topics - and build their evidence base for positive action and conversations with other tourism players. I've made lots of great connections and worthwhile learnings from the different sessions. Looking forward to getting back up and then on the road with a further 11 communities already lined up to ⏸ Press Pause this Autumn." Marketing Nottingham & Nottinghamshire I Visit Nottinghamshire I Marketing Executive & Digital Asset Specialist
We attended an excellent, informative and extremely entertaining Simpleview Summit in Bristol this week. Katherine Taylor ACIM and I at Visit Nottinghamshire & Marketing Nottingham & Nottinghamshire found great value in speaking with regional, national and international DMOs about their successes, problems and achievements in the industry. 3 days of talks, meetings and discussions have given us great food for thought! The Banksy Tour was fantastic even in the rain and Wake The Tiger was the most surprising, strange and surreal experience! I whole heartedly recommend both if you Visit Bristol! Thanks to the simpleview team, Amanda Lee MCIM and Tracy Ryan FCIM, FCMI for their meticulous organisation! We enjoyed every moment. Huge thanks to Visit West for hosting us! #simpleviewsummit #simpleview

So that's another Simpleview conference done and dusted. Visit West - you've been great hosts and I have to admit I've fallen even more in love with Bristol (if that's possible). Amazing eateries, cultural, stylish, fun. Just a fabulous modern city. And Wake The Tiger - well that just blew my mind (pics below)! Great to finally meet people in person for the first time (looking at you Claire Toze after all these years!) and lovely to catch up with so many of our destination partners old and new. Thanks as ever to all the people who make an event like this come together (Amanda Lee MCIM, Tracy Ryan FCIM, FCMI, Matt Bassett, Amy Knight-Dawson, Letitia Price, Tina Veater, Vanessa Martin, Miriam Bonner, Richard Veal). Last but certainly not least... Charlotte Barrow congratulations on Brighton being selected for next year - can't wait!

How many UK cities can lay claim to time lords, super sleuths, Peckham entrepreneurs and ‘raunchfest’ rivals as well as owning the title of UNESCO city of film? Only one, Bristol. It was an absolute pleasure to take part in the Screen Tourism panel at the Simpleview conference in Bristol this week, alongside fellow panellists Samantha Perahia MBE Emma Wilkinson and Adela Straughan. Also to learn more about Simpleview from their CEO Ryan George and to hear about all the great plans for the area from Kathryn Davis FTMI October 18th will see the release of the Disney+ recreation of Jilly Coopers Rivals, with a stellar cast led by David Tennant and Adien Turner, it’s sure to be a winner and guess what, it was shot in and around Bristol. This is just the latest in the cities successful production track record, as it's also the home to Dr. Who, Sherlock, The Outlaws, Skins and Only Fools and Horses… as well as the birth place of Cary Grant. When you mix this with great contemporary art and a renowned music scene, it's clear that this city is on to a winner to capture the interest of the travel hungry Gen Z’s and Millennial who are the most travel receptive for Screen Tourism…. And that’s before we even talk about a little dog called Gromit! Well done Bristol Film Office The Bottle Yard Studios and Visit West and congratulation to all the Simpleview team for a great conference Tracy Ryan FCIM, FCMI Amanda Lee MCIM #Bristol VisitBritain British Film Commission
