Quill 2.0 officially released last week 🚀 Before starting Slab, Quill was my proudest professional accomplishment and it's great to still see Quill being so widely used, even adding new names like Figma, Miro, and Zoom to the list of companies using Quill for major user-facing features in their products. Bringing Slab to a place where it can support a major project like Quill is a surreal milestone — and always nice to grab the #2 spot on HackerNews for the day and still trending on GitHub for the month ✨ Thanks to Zihua Li and the rest of the team at Slab in making it all happen 🙏 https://lnkd.in/ec7C2Zxq

🥂 Looking back at 2023, it's been a momentous year at Slab! With such a chapter wrapped, I'm energized after reflecting on what we've built and what's ahead 🚢 Generative AI: Writing in Slab has never been faster or easier, with the help of our first two shipments of AI goodness. Collaboration: We didn't abandon collaboration for humans (yet), with better post sharing, richer content like flowcharts, and many quality of life boosts to version histories. Templates: Rebuilt on much better foundations, templates leveled up in editing, organization, and ease of use. Our library multiplied to over 100+ ready to use examples from industry leaders. Search: An important area to never stop improving, search got better filtering, more indexing, smarter relevance, and more useful results. …and all of this we shipped as a profitable company 💸 ✨ We're not slowing down in 2024 — our team today is the most formidable it’s ever been, and I daresay this year will be Slab's most defining one yet — I'm excited to share and, more importantly, show very soon 🚀 https://lnkd.in/exSHw7Cj

Anton Maximov and his team at Coast tried a lot of documentation tools before deciding on Slab. Google Docs — Without cross linking or an easy way to structure information, it was too hard to find information 😓 In-house tool/GitHub — As engineers, it made sense to try reading documentation as code in GitHub, but search was limited and there was too much friction in creating documentation 😬 Confluence — Considered, but when they couldn't import their Markdown pages and realized they'd have to build an importer or rewrite their docs, it was a no go 😫 And then a friend recommended Slab to Anton, and once he discovered he could import all their Markdown files directly, and it was easy to create, organize, and read documentation… well the rest is history 😉 ✨ https://lnkd.in/gvRX5_Ku

One of the biggest challenges of scaling: keeping everyone aligned. We asked Chris Wallis, founder of the growing cybersecurity company Intruder to share their journey. 🫠 When repeat questions began disrupting work, Intruder realized they needed a place for documentation and knowledge sharing to scale the company 💡 The team began using Slab because it was easy to use and filled the gap in their documentation needs 👏 The number of questions asked in Slack has decreased from 2-3 per day to fewer than one per week 📈 Slab has provided Intruder with transparency, discoverability, and alignment—while allowing them to scale with fewer interruptions Read the whole story:  https://lnkd.in/gmkMVf_9
