The devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene has left countless families across Western North Carolina without homes, basic necessities like water and electricity, and uncertain about where their next meal will come from. While we cannot undo the damage, we are steadfast in our commitment to support those affected. By partnering with Mercy Chefs, donating food and essential products, and participating in clean-up efforts, we are dedicated to standing by our community in this time of need. https://brnw.ch/21wNDE6

Each year, our employees rise to the challenge during Feeding America's Hunger Action Month and our company wide food drive. This year alone, employees came together to collect more than 32,000 pounds of food, a 28 percent increase over last year. These food items will now go to those in the communities where we operate; where our employees live, work and raise their families. Together, we are taking a bite out of hunger.

At Smithfield Foods, we take the honor of feeding our neighbors very seriously. In partnership with the Oklahoma Pork Council, we closed out Hunger Action Month today with a33,000-pound pork donation to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. With hog production operations located in Laverne, Oklahoma, we continually look for ways to give within the local community, and we are grateful to also have broader opportunities like this one to make a huge impact across the state.

At Smithfield Foods, we are not only committed to adding veterans in our own ranks, but also supporting them in our communities. By walking along side organizations like Military Missions In Action (MMIA) as they furnish the homes of veterans in need, we are able to do more. Our good work is furthered by theirs. www.goodiswhatwedo.com

At Smithfield, we are not only committed to hiring veterans in our own ranks, but also supporting them in our communities. Recently our Harrison, Springdale and Cincinnati facilities came together to support veterans in Butler County, Ohio. In total, our team members volunteered 21 hours prepping for county's celebratory event. Efforts included hanging signs and banners, setting up tents and creating food vouchers for attendees.
