Toyota Tsusho Corporation announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Toyota Tsusho Europe S.A., has established a new company, SympH2ony GmbH ("Symphony") with the German company, Messer SE & Co., KgaA ("Messer") to produce and supply green hydrogen and provide fuel cell vehicles in Europe. In an article recently released by Forbes Magazine, they stated that "the U.S. administration is betting that the hydrogen effort will pay off. They are seeding the hydrogen market with truckloads of funding and hoping this will create jobs and demand for hydrogen, and yes, a substantial decline in GHG emissions. Further payoff would be new industries that can scale up enough to reduce costs of business, kind of like happened with wind and solar and batteries." The Buk-gu district in Ulsan, South Korea, has just unveiled plans to create the world's first "hydrogen apartment", with 437 units powered completely by hydrogen fuel cells.
