About us
South Park Commons is a community of technologists and builders dedicated to helping each other explore, learn, and get from -1 to 0. We believe good ideas very rarely come about in isolation. We are the anti-incubator, a safe zone that promotes judgement-free exploration and development of new ideas. Our hope as a community is that members find their experience here to be an exposure to problems and perspectives beyond their own, transformational to lifelong learning, and nurturing a dimension of thoughtfulness and responsibility in their ambitions. Most of all, we hope it’s an environment that encourages diving off the deep end together and forming lifelong relationships and legacies on the way to building the next phase of our life’s work.

South Park Commons India is now live with a cohort of 12 inaugural members. We recently had the opportunity to host Binny Bansal in our newly minted Bangalore office! The members had an engaging and inspiring session with him - the insights that Binny shared from his pre-PMF days at Flipkart to creating india’s first venture scale company and incubating & mentoring multiple startups were incredibly valuable. We are off to a great start!

Thrilled to let you all know that I have recently joined South Park Commons as the Founding Partner for India - and we have launched the India chapter in Bangalore! The potential that the Indian builder ecosystem has to offer is limitless. I have spent the last 15+ years building alongside some of you. Have watched some amazing, 0->1 and beyond, journeys and creation of great companies by Indian founders. As I see it, one of the most important calls that a founder takes is choosing the opportunity area and the problem statement that they want to go after. A deliberate and deep exploration during the -1 to 0 phase is key to getting to the right area before embarking on execution. The excitement of bringing a solution to market can create blind spots in a founder's vision. Before the proverbial ‘product market fit’ it is important to get to the ‘founder market fit’ and ‘founder future fit’. As a founder, one does want to build the best company that s/he can. And to do that, the founder(s) have to get to high quality answers to - 'Why this?', 'Why now?' and 'Why me?' I felt that there is a gaping hole in the ecosystem that provides for an intellectually safe and emotionally secure space for founders to do this. It was exactly here that I feel that the tug of the South Park Commons model is the strongest. Looking at the SPC model, it was clear to me that this is something that is clearly missing in the Indian space. Aditya Agarwal, Ruchi Sanghvi and Binny Bansal felt like the right partners/ leaders to bring this to India with. So as I embark on my next adventure, I want to help other founders / builders impact the world in profound ways. Super excited to be building this as I get out of my own -1 to 0 phase!

I am thrilled to announce that Prateek Mehta has joined South Park Commons as our founding Partner for SPC India! Expanding to Bangalore is a unique opportunity that requires a unique talent. Someone who understands the founder journey, the Indian ecosystem and how SPC's -1 to 0 approach can help drive the next stage of explosive growth. Prateek’s journey is emblematic of the Bangalore builder culture, with over 15 years as a founder and operator at different stages across multiple companies. He co-founded Scripbox and Upwardly, scaled Myntra and was key in expanding Angel One's market cap. His experience is rich, diverse and impressive—all the right ingredients to foster a uniquely valuable environment for members of SPC-India. Ruchi Sanghvi, Binny Bansal and I are excited to have an experienced leader like Prateek help us bring the -1 to 0 philosophy to India. Welcome Prateek!
