Sunrise Banks customers Adam Jonas and Jay Rajaratnam are the development team behind Firefly Lynlake, a new multi-family housing complex in south Minneapolis that is a certified U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Zero Ready Home. That means the building is so energy efficient that it has the potential to generate as much energy as it consumes through renewable energy. Sunrise Banks provided a $1.75 million net zero construction loan for the Firefly LynLake project. Adam and Jay are also some of the first business participants in the Net Zero Deposits program at Sunrise Banks. On our blog, you can learn more about the net zero features of the Firefly complex and how Adam and Jay are creating an “ecosystem of synergy.” https://bit.ly/3WgYtJd Member FDIC. Hundreds of people came out to East Lake Street today to celebrate both Juneteenth and the grand re-opening of the The Historical Coliseum Building Four years ago, the building suffered heavy damage during the social unrest after George Floyd’s murder and was almost torn down. Today, the Historic Coliseum Building is re-opening with a new look, new tenants and a mission to build generational wealth for BIPOC business owners and entrepreneurs. We at Sunrise Banks are proud to have financially supported the restoration of this historic building. A special thank you to Office of Governor Tim Walz & Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, Councilmember Robin Wonsley and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for attending today's grand opening and ribbon cutting. On our Sunrise Banks blog, you can read more about how the developers at Redesign, Inc. worked to preserve both the historic features and damage from the unrest.
