We are thrilled to share the release of our partner J.Crew’s new 2023 J.Crew Group Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report—encompassing sustainability initiatives across the J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, and Madewell brands. In February, SuperCircle and J. Crew launched “Second Life Swim” , a first-of-its-kind post-consumer swimwear recycling program, enabling J.Crew customers to responsibly recycle their pre-loved swim (from any brand) and receive a reward towards their next swimwear purchase. Utilizing our proprietary fiber-to-fiber recycling technology and open-loop recycling streams, we’re keeping textiles out of landfills and extending the lifespan of your swimwear. We’ve been delighted with the reception of this program and proud to be a partner in J. Crew’s continued progress towards circularity. “A nationwide, multi-brand swim takeback program that allows anyone to recycle any swimwear in J.Crew stores or online is a high-impact solution with the potential to raise the consciousness and adoption of textile recycling immensely. We’re thrilled to have already recycled thousands of pieces of swimwear via our J.Crew x SuperCircle Second-Life Swim partnership, and are looking forward to continuing to grow that impact with a program that is win-win-win for consumers, brands, and our planet.” — Chloe Marie Songer, Co-Founder & CEO, SuperCircle Congratulations on the publication of this labor of love by our incredible partners Katherine O'Hare, Samantha Shiffman, Sandra Joyce and more importantly, for the huge accomplishments across a spectrum of sustainability initiatives it spotlights. We are thrilled to announce the launch of our post-consumer sneaker recycling program with conscious (and coveted) footwear brand, Oncept.  Oncept believes that when we produce less, own less and consume less, we create space for the important things, like living well every day—and we couldn’t agree more. Now, in partnership with SuperCircle, Oncept is taking the next step in sustainable innovation with our sneaker trade-in program, giving your pre-loved sneakers a new life and rewarding you in the process. Every year, people throw away over 300 million pairs of shoes, 90%+ of which end up in landfill.* We believe in a different way, so we build circular solutions for a better, more sustainable future. SuperCircle logistics in practice ♻️ We’re committed to full transparency in second-life processing—diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfill (responsibly) with advanced sustainability and impact reporting. Every item that enters our facility is: ⚪ Inbounded ⚪ ID’d ⚪ Sorted ⚪ Scanned by one of our NIR sortation partner systems. From there, we understand what the precise fabrication of the textile is and sort it into one of our fiber-to-fiber or open-loop feeds, prioritizing best next use. No category or material composition is off limits—if you are a brand or textile producer at any scale, we’d love to work with you. Send us a DM or reach out to us at inquiries@supercircle.world to learn more. #FashionSustainability #CircularFashion #TextileWasteSolution #SustainableInnovation #InventorySolutions

#NYTechWeek is officially here and we couldn't be more excited to nerd out on how tech is re-shaping the textile waste crisis 👩💻♻. A sign of a true paradigm shift, this year's Future of Fashion evening has an entire session dedicated to "next-life"—i.e. what happens to the garments we produce (or purchase) once we're done with them 🤔 . Which is exactly what SuperCircle's very own CCO, Mary Chiam, will be going deep on 💡. So whether you're a brand, producer, retailer, or consumer, you'll leave knowing exactly how to ensure your textiles don't join the 92 million tons of textile waste set to hit landfill this year. Equally important, how to ensure the economics of a zero landfill commitment work *for*, not against you. We are excited to have this critical conversation and honored to do so alongside the best in the space, moderator Youssef Elbehri, and fellow panelists Kat Hoelck, Lina G Londono, and from our partner and sustainable fashion leader EILEEN FISHER, INC., Carmen Gama. What a lineup 😮💨. Join us this Thursday, 8pm! And if you can't make it but still want to learn more, our DMs are open 👋 . It's a huge day at SuperCircle: we're excited to share the expansion of our partnership with Parachute Home with the launch of a nationwide home linen recycling program ♻ 🛌 . This game-changing program will allow customers all over the country to bring back old sheets, towels, pillows, and robes—from any brand, in any condition (ripped, damaged, stained—we just ask that they're laundered)—to Parachute's full fleet of stores, and receive a rare 15% off discount code in return 💸 . We launch in NY stores this weekend, with all geos following over the coming weeks. This is a huge step forward in a category with a high propensity to end up in landfill, but tremendous recycling potential. With both high volume of fabric and the commonality of mono-fiber compositions (think 100% cotton), we are able to fiber-to-fiber recycle a large proportion of what we collect, with all else open-loop recycled (nothing to landfill, nothing sold abroad—ever). 👊 "While clothing waste and recycling have received more attention recently, people may not know what to do with their ratty towels or past-their-prime pillows. There isn’t the same market for reselling towels or donating used sheets as there is for clothes." "Initially Parachute didn’t know what to do with these items either. After years of searching for a partner, Kaye says, the brand came across SuperCircle, which takes in and sorts materials by fabric type and then sends them off to one of its 31 recycling partners." Thank you to Kristin Toussaint at Fast Company for sharing our story, to our incredible partners Parachute Home, Ariel Kaye Tessa Hahn Calvin Shayer Mason Liffmann Meg Marsh Angelica Bermudez Annie Browning Juliette Grant Lindsey McMahon Madeleine Henderson Nico Nibbi Nikki Maldonado, and to our tremendous SuperCircle team Chloe Marie Songer Stuart Ahlum Mary Chiam Vishal Duvvuru Phong Nguyen Katie Tobias Katie Volker Shikha Kaiwar Joey Antosy for making this launch happen! #circularity #sustainability #circularfashion #retail #sustainableretail

Cleaning Out Your Closet? Here’s what you need to know according to Vogue Donation can be a great option, but not all donation programs are created equal—that’s where recycling with SuperCircle comes in. According to the EPA, much of what is donated but can’t be reused ends up in landfills or is sent via trade agreements to the (already overwhelmed) second-hand markets of Africa, Asia, and South America, where if it isn’t sold, it is either incinerated, put into landfills, or left in waste piles. With 92 million tons of textile waste hitting landfill each year, donation programs simply can’t handle the volume. At SuperCircle, we partner with fashion brands and consumers to give your clothing a second life—even the stained, worn out, or damaged ones. A few of our favorite programs to help you with a sustainable closet cleanout?  - Recycle your swim with J.Crew - Recycle your activewear with Girlfriend Collective - Recycle your sneakers with Thousand Fell - Recycle your intimates with Subset Thank you Alyssa Hardy for shining a spotlight on us! The 92 million tons of textile waste produced each year stems from two sources 🤯 Pre-consumer or dead stock, which includes fabric scraps and unsold or damaged inventory from brands, retailers, and producers, and post-consumer, which includes garments purchased by consumers and subsequently disposed of, as well as unsaleable returns. To address the textile waste crisis, we must address both sources and create seamless, value-accretive alternatives to sending these textiles to landfill. Which is exactly why we’ve worked to create journeys and programs that can accommodate textile waste *wherever* it falls out of the supply chain. So, the question is—whether you’re a business or individual, where is your textile waste going? Share in the comments—especially if your answer is “it’s being recycled through SuperCircle” 😊 ♻ #TextileWaste #SustainabilitySolutions #CircularFashion #WasteReduction
