The Surf & Sales Summit is a one of a kind micro sales conference founded by Scott Leese, Richard Harris & Jeff Coleman.

About us

The idea for Surf & Sales came during a family vacation in Costa Rica. Nobody wants to spend their vacation talking about work. But sitting on a pristine, golden beach enjoying a well-earned tequila after an evening surf session, Scott Leese and Richard Harris turned to their shared passion for sales. It was undeniable: in that setting, thousands of miles away from the office, the ideas, insights, and inspiration simply flowed much more freely. They were thinking creatively, challenging each other, covering new ground. Then it hit them - what if they planned a surf trip not to escape work, but to embrace it, explore it, and build relationships with others? And what if they surrounded themselves with a small, select group of peers and aspiring sales leaders from around the world, to share not only their knowledge but also the kind of life experience that builds relationships that last? And what if it all took place in paradise, against the backdrop of learning (or just enjoying!) one of the most challenging and rewarding sports on earth? The answer was simple - it had to happen. They asked long-time friend, avid surfer, and business leader Jeff Coleman to join the team and take the lead on creating a world-class guest experience, and Surf & Sales was born. The Surf and Sales events have all quickly sold out and exceeded expectations. We have forged lifelong friendships, generated new business ideas and opportunities, and created incredible memories in and out of the water. There’s much more to come, and we hope you’ll join us for the ride!

    It's ok to be friends with your competitors. Spent the afternoon with Neil W. yesterday and can confirm he is a great human. Adam Jay ♾️ & Dale Zwizinski are competitors of mine, and friends. Wayne Morris is a competitor of mine, and friend. The list goes on and on. I've lost deals to all of these people, I'm certain of it. I am certain I will lose plenty more. I'm also certain I've won deals over these folks and many others, and I'm sure I'll win many more. Some people drink coffee black. Some with cream and sugar. Some don't drink it at all. I don't root for anybody to fail who is capable and qualified. There is room for everybody to succeed. PS - Big thank you to everybody who helped us sell out The Surf & Sales Summit once again this year.

    A few months ago, I came across a post from 🏄♂️ Scott Leese and loved his approach to sales. Even though Fitag was still early, I decided to take a shot and reach out to see if I could land a call. To my surprise, not only did he respond, he even convinced me it wasn’t too early at all. The call was scheduled a month later, with just 15 minutes on the calendar. I wanted to be ready, so I prepped thoroughly to make the most of that time. I wasn’t going to let this opportunity go to waste. When the day came, Scott joined right on time and was happy to answer all my questions. We ended up talking for at least 30 minutes, and it was one of the most impactful and exciting conversations of my journey thus far. He was down to earth and easy to talk too so all my cramming and anticipation left me more anxious than I needed to be. Lesson learned there. 😅 Since that call, I’ve been applying Scott’s advice every day. I made a commitment to him and myself to focus on one simple task: NETWORK. He also shared a few other golden nuggets of wisdom that I’m holding onto (sorry). You never know who will pick up the phone or respond to your message. Even if someone feels out of reach, you might catch them at an opportune time. If you’re willing to take a shot and put in the work, opportunities will come.     Perspective allows us to choose what we see. I have so much startup schwag collected over the years I can fill an entire closet. What I don't have much of is cool company branded socks. Every attendee of this years Surf and Sales events get a cool pair of surf themed socks from MERGE4 out of Soquel, CA courtesy of Cindi Busenhart Top notch - I wear 'em all the time and in case your company doesn't need another t-shirt this year, give her a buzz and I bet she can hook you up. P.S. Make sure you use up any education stipends your company gives you that expire or pester your VP (most do) to give you a ticket to The Surf & Sales Summit this year. Down to the final four tickets available. I see opportunity.
