The Long Marsh Forward: Adaptive Regeneration of Belville's Riverfront, an ASLA Honor Award Winning Design, utilizes a variety of innovative solutions which address rising sea level, carbon sequestration, and restoration of wildlife habitat. Natural stone can add a warmth and timeless quality to any space. At Bandwidth Inc.’s brand new campus in Raleigh, NC the stone walls gave an inviting character to the outdoor cafe patio. By integrating a small water feature into the natural field stone walls, we were able to create a relaxing environment for employees to take their lunch break or host clients. The Wake Tech CC East campus is quickly coming to fruition! Marking our fourth project on East campus, we are thrilled to share the Fire and Rescue Training Complex has officially broken ground. The center aims to provide state of the art training for future fire fighters using an immersive, reality-based training simulation composed of a 4D village, drill tower, and other emergency training programs. Phase 2 over at Truist Leadership Institute is officially coming to a close! Set to open this week, the new North Building will open it's doors to host it's first leadership training group. The design of the facility aims to be "elegant without being opulent," says our teammate Jeff Sowers of CJMW Architecture. The facility was designed to seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor spaces while causing minimal disruption to the surrounding environment. This aesthetic and feeling was achieved through large windows, the reuse of natural materials, preservation of the surrounding tree canopy, and integration of native plantings naturally found in the Piedmont region. Two barn-style doors within the facility were created using wood from a large oak removed from the site. Overall the site is aimed to be "relaxing and inviting," allowing guests to separate from their day to day world and focus during training sessions. Proclaimed by Raleigh Magazine as an "Emerging District," our work over on the WTCC Perry Health campus continues toward expanding program opportunities. The project consists of a new 120,000 GSF classroom building that will host a plethora of health science and technology programs, construct a new 400 space parking deck, and pedestrian friendly greenspace for optimal connectability.
