✏️The 2024 General Prize Essay Contest—the Naval Institute’s oldest and most prestigious—is open for entries📝 The contest is open to all contributors—active-duty military, reservists, and veterans, both officer and enlisted, as well as civilians and academics. Essays may address any topic, although the attached flyer offers a few ideas that authors are welcome to consider. The three top essays will be published in the March Naval Review issue of Proceedings. In addition, there is a total of $11,000 in cash awards for the three winning authors, as well as recognition at the Naval Institute Annual Meeting. Theodore Roosevelt, flagship of Carrier Strike Group 9, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. An integral part of U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet operates naval forces in the Indo-Pacific and provides he realistic, relevant training necessary to execute the US Navy’s role across the full spectrum of military operations – from combat operations to humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
