Columbia | SIPA's Sustainable Investing Research Initiative (SIRI) is thrilled to partner with Regeneration.VC to launch a summer internship program focused on impact investing and planetary boundaries. This program connects top graduate talent from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) and other graduate programs with leading VC investors and their portfolio companies. Both Greta Bertozzini (Regeneration.VC, Associate) and Caroline Flammer Ph.D. (Founding Director of SIRI, A. Barton Hepburn Professor of Economics, and SIPA’s Vice Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs) are excited about this partnership, highlighting its significance to both Regeneration.VC and Columbia. “We have been working with Greta and the Regeneration team for more than a year now, and they have been a very special partner to SIRI. We are super excited to launch with them this first-ever Regenerative Systems VC Internship Program here at SIPA and Columbia. In today’s world, it is essential to educate and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and investors to work towards planetary and human health. This impact VC summer internship program aims to do exactly that. We very much look forward to continue expanding our partnership with Regeneration.VC in the future.” Caroline Flammer Ph.D. (Founding Director of SIRI, A. Their work on system-level investing pushing for a deeper understanding of complex systems is critical in our work as venture investors, and so is bridging academia with real-world change. I am pleased to create this opportunity for students who want to work for something that gives back more than what you put in. Excited for everything else to come with Caroline at SIRI and my broader engagement with Columbia.” Greta Bertozzini (Regeneration.VC Associate) What’s in it for Students? · Gain hands-on experience in venture capital and sustainable investing. · Work on impactful projects like deal flow, due diligence, impact measurement, and thought leadership. · Apply academic learning to real-world challenges and expand your professional network. 🎓 Thrilled to share a milestone moment in blended finance! Convergence Blended Finance and Columbia University's Sustainable Investing Research Initiative (SIRI) at Columbia | SIPA announce a groundbreaking academic partnership that couldn't come at a more critical time. As Director of Knowledge and Thought Leadership at Convergence, I'm particularly excited about how this collaboration will reshape the blended finance landscape. The global challenges we face—from climate change to poverty—require innovative financing solutions. While the blended finance field has evolved through empirical learning, case studies, and transaction data, practitioners increasingly recognize the need to strengthen its theoretical foundations. This partnership responds to that imperative. Together with SIRI, we're building three core pillars: 🔹 Fostering rigorous academic research on blended finance, with special emphasis on the Global South 🔹 Enhancing data collection and knowledge-sharing across the ecosystem 🔹 Developing certification programs to build capacity among blended finance professionals What excites me most is our shared commitment to cultivating a truly global knowledge ecosystem. We're specifically focused on amplifying voices and expertise from the Global South - fostering both scholarship about and scholars from regions where blended finance solutions are most needed. The future of blended finance demands both cutting-edge research and practical market insights. Working alongside Dr. Caroline Flammer and the exceptional SIRI team, we're bridging the gap and building that future. EPP developed research this fall in collaboration with Columbia | SIPA that will help corporate clean energy buyers better understand the geographic overlap between their value chains and fragile, energy poor countries. Buyers (and advisory firms) can use this new research to more easily determine which P-REC projects to prioritize based on the geographic match with their upstream "Scope 3" impacts. Learn more about EPP's new research here: https://lnkd.in/dEfhncBV A special thank you to our remarkable student team—Anushka Satyajit, Hayley F., Reid C., and Xiangxiang (Cheri) Chen—for their research and valuable contribution to EPP's work!
