“Africa doesn’t need another logistics operator or delivery aggregator. We need the infrastructure that enables existing logistics companies to maximise their assets.” - Kwaku Tabiri, co-founder at Swoove360 (Techstars '23). 12 months ago Swoove was an aggregator, connecting over SMEs and digital commerce to logistics companies. In serving over 20,000 SMEs and 200+ logistics companies, their data showed a troubling trend - most of the logistics companies on their platform were failing. Over 90% of logistics companies in Africa fail. 40% of their vehicles are under-utilised, and employee churn is at 50% - resulting in negative margins and unsustainable businesses. Logistics inefficiencies cost the continent up to 5% of its GDP, amounting to $155B. Efficient last-mile delivery is key for the continent’s 40M+ SMEs and $41B e-commerce sector to thrive. Swoove is a software infrastructure that enables existing operators to maximise their vehicle utilisation, retain talent, and generate insights to improve their operations. Their SaaS solution enables logistics operators to automate operations, hire & retain talent, identify logistics partners for fulfil orders, and access credit. Today their SaaS solution serves operators from the Ghanaian postal service (automating 20,000 orders per month), through to small delivery companies, in 5 markets. Swoove’s founding team (Kwaku Tabiri, Kevin Blankson, Kingsley Amponsah & Robert Quainoo) have deep domain expertise, with over 10 years of experience building logistics and e-commerce solutions. Congrats to team Swoove, for recently graduating from the ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator! 🚀 #africanstartups #ghanastartups #logistics #B2Bsaas #embeddedfinance Techstars, Asset & Resource Management Holding Company (ARM HoldCo).
